Chapter 1: The Book of Omnipotence
A man was walking down the streets. His footstep was easy going, stroll-like even, but there was a sense of excitement on his step that he can't conceal.
In his hand was a bag. A bag that contains his recent purchase that he brought from the bookstore, just uptown near the mall, and from the eager smile on his face it seems that he was excited to go home and read.
"The movie was amazing, now let's see how the books will fare," He whispered.
The bookstore was not really his initial destination, it was the cinema however after watching Dune Part 2 and being captivated by it he decided to head to the bookstore and buy books of the entire series.
His stride continued until he arrived at his apartment. Walking up to the door and rummaging through his pocket, he held out his keys and inserted it in the keyhole.
He twisted the key followed by a satisfying click and with a push the door opened. He then removed his shoe and placed it neatly on the shoe rack.
An excited tension placed upon him as he eagerly unpacked his purchase but upon pulling out the book from the bag, there was no sleek book with sci-fi cover instead there was a book with an old and worn template.
A book that seems centuries old. A confused and angry look appeared on his face.
"The fuck!? Was I scammed by that old man!?" He was displeased by this. He spent his monthly allowance to buy the book and now he was scammed.
"Fucking shit!" Bang! And he struck the table in anger.
He looked at the book and after breathing deeply he relaxed a bit and inspected it. The cover was leather and the pages seemed like it came from an old but expensive paper.
There was no title on the front, it was just blank. Even the pages were blank. Once again confused the man decided to open it but suddenly a gripping pain on his brain assaulted him.
"GUAAAAGH!"
A shout of agony escaped from his mouth as a flood of unfamiliar information rushed through him.
Deep inside him he felt something intangible be destroyed and reconstructed. He fell to the floor spasming in pain like he was being electrocuted. The book bonded with his soul becoming one with him.
Then suddenly everything stopped. As if time itself had come to a halt, his pupils widened as a profound realization dawned upon him.
"….the power to travel the multiverse at my will…" He murmured. His entire body shaking in excitement. Gone was the confusion replaced by the divine revelation.
'This is a dream come true!' Without even wasting any time the man took the book and ran towards his study table and grabbed a pen.
He traced his fingers throigh the old but sleek cover of the book and opened it gently. He positioned his pen on the upper left corner of the book.
He was about to write something but he halted.
"Is this really safe? Am I really supposed to be doing this?" He asked. Then he looked down at the floor.
His eyes were lifted back and stared at the small round mirror atop his table.
'A life of nothingness. Of mediocrity. That's what I have been living and this is my chance to change it.'
'There's no need to hesitate. I will face the consequences whatever it is.'
Without any more hesitation his pen landed on the paper and drew lines which formed letters.

Then the man lifted his pen up from the page of the book. After finishing the final touch the world warped.
Everything twisted as the laws of physics became nothing more than an illusion. His mind became something different, memories of the man called Jake Atreides flowing through his head like a smooth and calm river.
The ability, the mastery, the skills, all of it transfering smoothly without any complications.
And then his eyes opened. To a world that only existed in fiction.
His eyes were greeted by the vast picturesque water, the salty and cold wind of it swinging on his face. Lingering a sense of tranquility. He was at the edge of a cliff.
"Brother?" A voice broke him out of reverie. He turned to the side and saw a young man before him.
He looked exactly like the actor in the film. A perfect carbon copy of Timothée Chalamet. Paul Atreides, his brother and the supposed future Lisan Al-gaib.
"Yes, Paul?" His tongue rolled out smoothly as if he was truly the brother of Paul Atreides and not the earth man.
It all felt natural. Like he was him. There was no sense of uncomfort, or alienity, even any sort of strangeness.
He was still him and at the same time he was Jake Atreides.
"You looked… quite bothered…" Paul said to him with a bit of worry.
"Do I now? Haha," Jake chuckled. Then he turned around to walk away from the cliff he was standing on and gestured at Paul.
"Come, let's resume your combat training." Instinctively Jake pulled out a dagger from his waist as if he knew that it was there from the beginning.
Paul nodded at him like an obedient younger brother and walked towards him while readying his own dagger.
"Activate your shield." Jake said as he tapped something on his shoulder, an imperceptible buzz activated the blue shield that hugged his body before disappearing as if it were a passing illusion. A barely visible barrier covering his body.
Although the traces of it still were perceptible as it shimmered faintly.
Paul followed suit and activated his shield ringing with the same buzz. Then he adopted a fighting stance, bringing his dagger up front, adjusting his grip.
Without any signal Paul lunged towards Jake with his dagger in a stabbing motion. It was swift but at the same time it was controlled, showing just how trained Paul is.
However Jake was much higher in terms of skill. With a simple sidestep Jake dodged the stab and counter-attacked with a swift swipe on the midsection.
Paul, surprised, stepped back and readjusted his position once again to defend.
Jake was just standing there with a lax posture while pointing his blade but the next moment he was gone. He just blinked for a millisecond and he already felt a cold metal resting on his neck.
Even though the shield was on and no attacks coming at him at high speed and penetrating through the dagger was surprisingly at his neck, meaning Jake somehow managed to smoothly bypass his shield with a slow attack which he failed to notice.
"I guess this is my win." Jake said with a small smile.
Paul sighed and raised his arms in defeat and said.
"Yeah, the 206th win." He remarked in exasperation.
(Note: The first universe will just be short. Because it's just a test drive, maybe fifteen to twenty chapters at best)
