Bab 23: Chapter 22 Hidden Tasks and Rewards

Ashley gave birth in her rodent form, which surprised Sally.

"You're here." Ashley lay weakly on the beast skin blanket, with a lot of blood already beneath her that hadn't been cleaned up in time.

Sally walked over, standing by the birthing bed, "Why did you give birth in your rodent form?"

"Beastwomen always give birth in their beast form," replied Shava, who was nearby.

Sally thought that if she were to give birth in her rodent form, how small the child would be; it seemed the System was still rather humane in this respect...

"Sorry, I didn't know."

"It's okay... I'm the one who should apologize. After the Demon Beasts attacked the tribe, Lin Lang entrusted me to find you outside the tribe, but I didn't go looking for you, and I even lied, claiming the Demon Beasts had eaten you. I shouldn't have hidden the truth and deceived you; I've wronged you." Ashley felt her difficult childbirth was karma, that she got what she deserved.
