Bab 44: Desire

Guard Niu rushed over to where Zhang Mi was, alarmed at the state she was in, the chilling look in those dark eyes caused the other inmates to retreat in fear. Crouching until she was at the same height as the Zhang heiress, Guard Niu reached out to wipe traces of blood staining the lips of Zhang Mi, tenderly tucking the stray strands of hair that had fallen over the corner of her face, that shielded that part of her sight.

Without any warning whatsoever, she picked up the Zhang heiress, placing her with great care across her chest, before instructing the rest of them in the cell to clean up the bloody mess from the floor. Making no reference whatsoever regarding how she would be handling the assailants of the Zhang heiress, Guard Niu turned around, leaving the holding cell for her personal office which was a couple of feet from where they were.
