Bab 28: Scene XXVIII

It was well past midnight and silence reigned in the chamber the two had filled in their tangling presence.

His sweat had dried, cold on his skin. Yet the chill of the night was not enough for the man to cover under the warmth of their shared sheets. Unlike the woman beside him.

Cuddling to herself under the fur, her profile peeked outside. Peacefully resting in slumber with the bushy shine of her unique strands.

"....." — Aslak tilted to observe the Wife he had taken in silence. Truly intrigued by her essence. Ending fixated on the nicely shaped curls of her fur that brought his hand to wrap his finger in one of them.

'... This shape and shade... are rare...' — He thought, interested in the feel of the strands in his hand.

"..... Although I am sure that's not all of it." — The man mumbled, taking his hand away. Settling comfortably in their mattress to find rest as he recalled the behaviour of the woman during their night.
