Bab 122: Order to Retreat

Silence fell over the room after Arias spoke. The air inside the watchtower was still as warm as before, but somehow, the duke felt as if the temperature had dropped like it was suddenly winter. There was no way that the duke, who was the ruler of Bernier, did not know about demon summoning magic, which was a high-level dark magic skill. He might be a ruler of a small city, but he was also a member of the royal family who had been educated since a young age. That meant he had some knowledge of the dark arts, such as demon summoning magic.

When he connected the dots by putting together what Arias was saying, it led him to one terrifying conclusion. The duke remained silent, not asking Arias a single question. He could only pray that Arias’ next words would not confirm his thoughts.
