On the ground, dusty soil scattered thinly in the air like mists. The area was filled with traces of battle. Nothing was left of a huge beast statue that once stood tall on the side of the walkway but debris and its foundation. If you looked carefully towards the courtyard, you would see several bodies lying lifelessly, one of them blown to pieces and beyond recognition. All of the bodies scattering around were the intruders. As for the castle’s defenders, they were injured but still able to stand proudly and gracefully. By taking but one glance, you would be able to tell who the victor of this war was.
However, the decisive match was not the one between the mages on the ground. If you looked into the sky, you would see a fierce battle between two mages hovering in mid-air. Two men--one old and the other young--each other without seeming ready to surrender. It was their fight that would truly decide the outcome of the war.
