Bab 214: Another Round?

On the octagonal stage, the sound of fighting could be heard without a pause. This was Ground II, the place where all applicants’ fighting skills were tested. Here, it was the applicants’ wit, decision-making skills, experience, and abilities that dictated the score they would get.

All applicants had the same opponent: a big man with a black beard covering his chin and eyes that seemed capable of reading his opponents’ every move. There were hundreds of mages who had come up on this octagonal stage, but not a single one of them had managed to wound Jordan. That was right, this man was Jordan, the examiner of Ground II.

Though Jordan had temporarily suppressed his sage mage power, a lot of applicants were still intimidated by him. Lucky for them, Jordan was mostly just blocking rather than attacking, so the applicants were able to breathe a little easier.
