Bab 64: Envy

"Ah... this was exactly what I feared."

Like a thick sea of despair, the mist spread to the corners of the space. Darkness had enveloped it whole, and Daniel could see nothing within it.

Gulp...

Daniel began to shake in fear, however with a steadfast will to survive, he held onto his trembling arm. He knew no one could grant his survival except himself, and this intensified the lingering pressure he felt.

*No matter what, I have to survive this. I can't let myself be clouded in darkness, nor can I allow my soul to fall into the pits of despair. *

Thump!!!

Huff...

Smashing his chest with force, his disarrayed thoughts settled into a calm form. His steady breath proved he hadn't given up yet on the fight, and he calmly approached through the dark mist.

"This isn't even close to what I felt during the orphanage's massacre. I can't let this shadow play terrify me."
