Crying in pain and grief, Daniel knelt before the dead body of his Grandfather. A mentor who was dear to him through the wheel of time, and he had finally met his end.
His eyes overflowed with tears, and a drenching grief was his pillar. Kicking the body of Yakuza aside, he punched her corpse continuously, but it was all useless.
Death could not be resurrected, and so was the law of life. All life had its end, perhaps not apparent to the human eye, however, it was surely a truck in place. Daniel knew this, yet his heart rejected the absurd law.
Julia and John had been in school, having no idea of the current demise which befell their family of four. Yes indeed, Grandfather became a figure they looked up to, and with that their family.
Shocking as it was, they felt awry. It was as if something had been misplaced in their lives, and they thought relentlessly about the cause. But school waited, and with that, they sat with focused minds in class.
Daniel had seen the building's grief which was exposed through the actions of his best friend. He felt heartbroken, but there was nothing he could do about it.
The claws of death had already claimed a soul, and as little as his brain was, only childish desires lay within. Yet he still offered compassion and condolences to his grieving friend, truly a sight to behold.
Daniel knelt with dismay; his brain had broken off the rational pillars the world held dear. Nothing made sense to him, and he only sook a chance to gain justice.
His eyes grew pale, with a saddened look of an expression. It was as if his world had turned upside down, there was nothing he could pour his anger and pain onto.
Descending to the ground, Loki walked in pain towards the corpse of Yakuza. He sat by her body with saddened eyes and looked through the hole which was buried through her.
"Life was always short-lived. No one knew when they would meet the cliff's edge, and I now know you didn't. Ruthless in your actions, yet deep down you supported my childish dreams. I hope your soul finds peace, as I've always loved you", Loki sobbed.
Imprinting a soft kiss on the lips of Yakuza, he turned towards the chosen. His eyes were filled with purpose, and Daniel kept his eyes buried to the ground without care.
Limping slowly towards Daniel, he touched the little boy's shoulder. It seemed the time to make things right had finally come, and all he had to do was to tap into the fragment within Daniel.
Yet that action would cost Loki's life too, he knew this. The power of realities was too great to overcome with simple will and strength. However, determination was something Loki could boast of.
Even if it meant his demise, his yearning for the preservation of human life was greater than any other. So he leaned his arm forth to grab the shoulder of the little boy, and his breath softly grew weak.
"I don't have much time. Chosen one, your time has finally come. It's time to fulfill your objective within this world, finding you from the unknown terror that happened at the orphanage years ago, I knew something was awry."
"We had searched for any events which had impossibilities, which was surely out of this world. After much effort to find you, I can finally see the shard of reality. You know nothing of your power, a god you always were."
"With these inhuman eyes, I could see what lay await on the other side, and the overflowing Nova within you. You are surely the redeemer of human life, child."
Daniel kept his head down without care, his thoughts were only filled with revenge. The students went back in fear, as the bloody stature of the stranger was terrifying.
Even Kakashi trembled at the words which he spouted, a godly echo through the wind. For he held the pillars that hooked the curtains of the sky against the face of the world, a terrifying god indeed.
"Did you cause this?", Daniel questioned.
"Nothing in this world lives without cause, child. It was meant to happen, and I simply held the steer to the irredeemable event.", Loki replied.
With a boiling rage, Daniel rose and ran in speed towards Loki. He fixed a punch to strike against the wind god, and with a suppressing force, he clenched his fists.
"Aaargh!!!!"
Unfortunately, even at his weakest the wind god was stronger than an average god. The wind pinned Daniel straight into the ground, and Loki looked towards the sky.
The sky had turned red, showing the process had already started. Building the base of operations in Ireland, the scientists had commenced the first course.
Using the relics as a source of divine power, they pierced the sky with world-changing technology. The device was finally finished, and it struck a red glow through the sky.
The sky cracked like a broken mirror; however, these were not enough to bring forth the portal. Loki had to tap into the power of the otherworld, and the only way was through the child which was pinned before him.
Daniel attempted to rise from the ground, but the suppressing wind was too strong. The children retreated from the scene, fearful of what might happen next.
With limping steps, Loki confronted the chosen and knelt. It was finally time to bring in the new age and rid the world of endless suffering. He stretched the ring towards Daniel's temple and pinned it strongly.
"Your efforts are admirable, but they stand in no strength in comparison to unwavering will and determination. In thanks, I show my gratitude to you, my savior"
Boom!!!!
Arghhhh!!!
Daniel screamed as the ring touched his head. It drew out the power of the shard, and Loki redirected it to the sky with his other arm. The energy that coursed through his body was suppressing, it was almost like his veins were in hot lava.
Yet he did not waver, and his screams told the tale of his bravery. Loki continued with a stemmed resolve, and the power from Daniel broke through the curtain of the sky.
Crack! Boom!!
The sky broke like shards of a mirror, and in devastation, all humans and beasts alike looked at the red sky. Like a black hole, the portal sucked everyone into it, and the wailing screams of people echoed through the earth.
Dragging them, it sucked out everything. Both humans and animals were drawn into the atmosphere. It seemed an apocalypse had been released upon the earth, and this was in great view.
Daniel's white hair turned black, and Loki's body was drenched with sweat and steam. The cars and buildings broke apart, chaotic in every way as half the human population died due to unforeseen events.
The news outlets streamed the chaos on every platform, and in every country. People prayed crazily for safety, but the portal still dragged them into it.
Daniel was unconscious, and his body was also dragged into the portal. Julia and John saw these events happening, as the building of their schools weathered into pieces.
Finally, his will had been accomplished, and he looked at the red sky with eyes of relief. His eyes were faltering, for all the countless battles he fought. In his final breath, so he believed, he uttered his words of will.
"I am Loki, and I stand against all odds. Even if my life ends, my battles will forever remain in the scrolls of history."
This is the end of the first volume. Thank you all for supporting with me through this journey. The post apocalypse chapters would continue from this.
