Bab 69: A mentor's end

"Who knew my end would come at your hands? The world is surely full of surprises."

Daniel turned to see Anakin withering away, and his smile slowly faded in time. His long-lasting battle had finally met its end, and as the victor, he had every right to survive from the grasp of the gates.

The trees began to wither as if its life were plucked from the heart. Daniel knew it was finally time to leave for the next step, and this time he had grown in strength.

Sometimes using your head in battle greatly influences the outcome of events. Yet the feeling of losing someone who taught him was quite disheartening.

The lads hated themselves from the start, but they appreciated each other's skill and tenacity. Anakin mostly joked through his ordeal with Daniel, with neither time to rest nor breathe.
