When the two sat back down, the matter had a conclusion, but the two still remained silent, minding their own business with the coffee.
After a long time, Olivia Taylor put down her coffee cup, took out 2 pieces of paper from her small LV bag, and a pen, then handed them one of them over to Ray Tristan.
"What's this?" Ray Tristan returned from his deep thoughts to reality, and puzzlingly asked.
"Contract, a marriage contract." Olivia Taylor once more turned away, refusing to look at Ray Tristan, returning to her initial cold face.
Ray Tristan smiled, picked up the fountain pen and signed his name naturally on the signature box without even looking at the contents.
"You're not even looking at what's on it before signing?" Olivia Taylor frowned and said.
Ray Tristan shook his head, smiled and said, "Even without looking I know, it must be things like I cannot enter your room, cannot push you over, mutual agreement of not interfering with each other's private lives, when outside I have to conscientiously act properly, with a reward 2 years later. Right?"
Olivia Taylor pursed her lips, and mumbled, "More or less, since you've already signed, you must abide by it in the future."
"Hehe. However, Olivia, what if you take the initiative to ask me for it... What should I do..." Ray Tristan frivolously asked.
"You..." Olivia Taylor was angered to the point her whole face blushed, "Hmph! It won't happen, that type of stain in one's life, once is enough..."
Stain in one's life? The thing that half the people in the whole world do everyday was a stain in one's life to this girl. Ray Tristan didn't retort and laughed, he drank a big mouth and finished the cup of coffee, dusted his butt off and stood up, "Alright, later on I still have to go to a friend's place for dinner. Let us leave the matter of registering for tomorrow..."
"Wait, how do I contact you, what's your cellphone number?" Olivia Taylor said with dissatisfaction.
Ray Tristan scratched his head, and replied embarrassed, "Didn't you investigate me? I have no cellphone, if I bought one I still have to pay for the line, I don't have the money. Tomorrow you can come to my house to find me, shouting for me from downstairs would do." With that said he intended to leave.
"Hey!"
"Is there more?" Ray turned back.
"You... You're not allowed to call me like that." Olivia herself found that form of address too embarrassing to say, it was too sappy!
Ray understood in a flash, and followed with a serious face as he said, "As you bid, my lord wife."
Olivia instantly felt the sky spin and the earth twist... How am I going to deal with this rogue in the future!?
...
Present time..
Ray was left alone in the roadside. He decided to walk back in feet.
"It's like our role exchanged with the new world. I don't know how and what surprises more are in stock for me in here. But now that, we are together in the end, I won't let you be sad anymore. Even if it's a fake marriage for you now, I will turn it into a real one.", Ray Tristan thought aloud in the street with a determined face.
"Old man, don't you know this territory was under Brother Lishan? If you put a stall to do business here, you must pay a protection fee or else we won't be responsible if there is any natural or man-made disaster!" threatened a bully as he clutched the booth keeper's wrists.
Ray Tristan frowned his eyebrows. Four bullies were harassing an old booth keeper not too far away from him. Ray Tristan usually didn't mind others' businesses, but he couldn't just let these people pick on someone weaker.
Four young men bullying an old man. What kind of men are they?
"Screw it! Why are you still looking at me? What's there to look at? You old fool, I am talking to you. Can you hear me? If you want to put up a stall here, you have to pay some money!" The bully casually swung his leg and messed up the old man's stall.
"Young man, I don't have anything against you. I sell my things; you walk your path. We don't interfere with one another. Why do you still want to make trouble for an old man like me?" said the old man and he sighed.
"damn it old man, who do you think you are?" The long-haired young man standing to the side started to lose his patience. He went up and flipped the old man's stall, shouting, "Old man, you refuse a toast only to drink a forfeit".
"I guess we will have you give you the harsher treatment then. However, since you are such an old chap, I shall not beat you up, just so that people won't say that we don't respect the elders or love the young. Let me give you a chance. You kneel down, bow to me and call me 'Elder Brother Lishan', and then I can waive away your protection fee or else, don't ever let me see you again!"
"What has happened to our future generations?" The old man shook his head and packed up the things that had fallen to the ground.
"damn it!" Ray Tristan saw how the old man was bullied and instantly became incensed. An old man who made a living by setting up a stall was definitely worth sympathy. Yet, these two young brats still wanted to collect a protection fee from him?
"Yoh? Why are you staring at us like that?" The long-haired young man saw Ray Tristan come angrily at him and immediately stopped and questioned him.
"Stop bothering the old man. He is already old for doing this kind of job."
"Hehe, do you really think you're the boss here just because you spoke up some good words? I am just paying you some respect but it is I, Lishan, who makes the call!" The long-haired young man spat a glob of thick phlegm in front of Ray Tristan and said disdainfully
Ray Tristan's face turned deathly pale. He had never heard of this Lishan guy.
"Brother Lishan is talking to you. Can't you hear it? Are you deaf or ill? Want to be beaten up, is it?" The little ruffian noticed how Ray Tristan didn't respond so he went up to push Ray Tristan.
Ray Tristan grabbed Lishan by the throat and pushed him into the wall. He smiled coldly and said, "You were damn right. I am nothing right now, but I can still beat you up untill even your mother cannot recognise you. Do you believe me?"
"Cough… cough… mother fucker! Let go of me!" Lishan's neck was constricted to a point where he couldn't breathe.
Other bullies who came forward to help him was also beaten up badly in his anger.
