Bab 13: Lansseax

Aerion woke with a groan, his eyes fluttered as he winced from a burning pain in his chest. All he could see was the familiar grey of Drekars soulless mountains.

He heard a hiss and saw the familiar red head of his snake, he blinked at the odd look of relief that somehow appeared on its face.

His hand reached out and shakily ran down the snakes muscled body, he blinked once more as he pushed his body onto all fours with a groan as his muscles screamed in protest.

Shakily he rose to his feet and looked out at his surroundings in sudden confusion. He blinked once, twice as he assessed the land.

It was flat.

Miles and miles of rocky flat land.

What used to be a large clearing incircled by large mountains was now just flat. He turned and saw a giant pile of rubble, must have been where he landed after the…the

The what?

His mind was suddenly assaulted with the bright images and memories of the final attack, he took an instinctive step backwards and grunted at the sudden pain in his right leg.

The final attack must have flattened a mountain range, a sudden bolt of lightning to his right instinctively had him diving to his left with a spear conjuring in his clenched fist.

All for nothing, he blinked.

And then blinked again as he warily eyed the sky, another bolt of lightning hit the floor and he remembered the storms that constantly assaulted this planet.

He chuckled as he sat back down slowly making sure not to disturb his aching leg, carefully he laid down making sure not to lay on top of his snake and eyed the sky above with exhaustion filling his body.

His dry blood covered form went back into a period of well needed rest.

—-

He woke again, this time much smoother as he didn't worry nor panic about the flat landscape nor the constant bolts of lightning surrounding him.

He summoned his black and green compass with a thought and checked the new charm he placed on the treasured gift.

He had placed a charm on it while on Earth so that it could point towards his ship if he so wished.

So when it pointed south west Aerion made sure to start walking, he was not in a state to fight even a small dragon.

His snake curiously eyed the compass as it dissipated into thin air.

Not even 30 minutes later he came across a familiar form.

Lansseax

He warily eyed the still body.

Was it dead?

That idea for some reason was not exactly pleasant.

But the idea that it survived and was waiting to kill him was far worse.

A spear conjured into his hands, his barely clothed form slowly approached the form.

He noticed its body was shifting back and forth slightly, breathing clearly. He clenched his jaw as he took more steps towards the damned thing's head.

He was now not even feet away, he got closer and was now standing directly in front of one of its giant closed  eyes.

He raised the spear ready to plunge it into the dragon's weak spot and kill it for good, until its golden eye opened.

Its eye was wide, it was clearly surprised but couldn't do much before it would be killed by the Asgardian. Aerion met its golden slitted eye with his own burning yellow ones.

He clenched his jaw as his fists tightened around the spear. "Dragon" his voice came out far calmer than he felt as Lansseax stared at him blankly.

Both forms were covered in their own blood, though now it was a darker dried version. Both were meeting one another's eye but unlike in the battle they were not glowing in excitement nor battle lust.

He plunged the spear downwards.

Lansseaxs eye flinched closed as the spear was dug into the ground in between the God and Dragon. The golden eye opened in surprise at the sight of the kneeling God holding onto the spear like a lifeline.

"Asgardian?" The dragon's tone expressed confusion.

"Killing you now…after that battle" Aerion said as he stared down at the rocky cracked ground "Well…it would be wrong"

The dragon felt similar, she had found his scent days ago and thought for a moment of killing the Asgardian but after the battle, it was wrong.

The sight of the Gods light angelic hair that reflected the sun creating the image of a halo above his head while his orange burning eyes stared into hers had been stuck in her mind.

The battle was the most fun either of them have had…ever.

Aerion sighed in the resulting silence, the wind blowing past them and the lightning striking the ground were ignored as the two stared at one another.

"It was a magnificent battle" Lansseax rumbled as she stood on all fours and stared down at the kneeling God.

Said God quickly raised to his feet, his spear in hand as he warily eyed the dragon wondering if he had made a mistake.

Her four wings flapped gently as they eyed one another again. Lansseax was the first to break the newly building silence "But I am afraid I am too injured to continue it" she offered him a branch of peace.

"Alas, I fear I too am rather injured" Aerion admitted as the spear in his hand dissipated into nothing, he had accepted the peace. "Your lightning was quite devastating" he said with a chuckle as he brushed his hand through his hair that had previously caught the dragon's eye.

"Your fire was just as strong" she complimented back. "I heard Odin has a son who has an affinity with lightning?" She asked.

Aerion nodded as he looked up at the creature "Aye, my brother Thor. He is the God of Thunder" He said proudly as memories of his brother ran through his head.

"How does he compare to my lightning?" the dragon asked eagerly.

Aerion awkwardly chuckled "Well, he is currently…much stronger than I" he admitted, hoping he wasn't too rude but the implication was there.

'I almost killed you multiple times in that fight, Thor would have obliterated you'

The words ran through Aerions mind as he stared at the now far less eager dragon, clearly Lansseax caught onto what he meant.

A few seconds of silence passed as they both avoided one another's eyes though Lansseax eventually broke the silence "Currently stronger than you?" She asked, referring to words when answering her question about Thor.

"Well, I wish to become stronger than him one day." Aerion confessed to the dragon who nodded her large head. "Do you have a family?" He asked awkwardly.

Lansseax surprisingly nodded "I have an elder brother myself, though I haven't seen him in a while" she revealed to the God who absorbed the information.

"Does he live here?" He asked slightly worried a dragon of similar strength could show up at any time.

Lansseax shook her large head "Nay, he is currently living with some prince." When Aerions brows furrowed she explained "They are good friends"

That didn't explain much.

"Wait, how did he get a ship big enough for a dragon?" He asked in confusion, only for the answer to leave him in more confusion.

"We can fly in space" Lansseax confessed to the slight awe of Aerion.

Aerion nodded as he awkwardly thought of conversation topics but was saved by Lansseax "I can help you be stronger" she offered out of the blue.

His brows furrowed in confusion as his eye wandered to the large dragon "How?"

Lansseax shuffled awkwardly for a moment "You showed excellent control over Fire, if you teach me then I shall teach you to wield dragon magics" Lansseax said to the shock of Aerion.

Dragon magic sounded…well magnificent is putting it shortly.

He then remembered he had commitments.

He must have been on this planet at least a month already, given the battle alone lasted for over a week and the resting period seemed to take its sweet time.

It took a long time to regenerate divine magics, all of which he used in a single final attack.

He still could barely stand.

"I am afraid I will need to be in Asgard for my birthday" he felt like a child as he explained to the ancient dragon that he couldn't learn dragon magic because he made a promise to his brother.

He clenched his jaw as he stared up at a particularly raucous storm cloud.

"I can teach you on Asgard" the words exited the dragon's mouth before she could think further on them. "If your planet has the space for a dragon of course" she added at the end, she still had manners.

Aerion blinked as he turned to the dragon "Uh, well yes we do." He paused as he swallowed awkwardly "Have space that is" he added on unnecessarily.

"That's good" Lansseax awkwardly added as they both avoided eye contact.

This sucked.
