Bab 24: Chapter#24: Back to where we started
William picked up Dara and went inside the palace with his three friends.
"I brought her as promised." he presented himself in front of the Alpha.
"Bring her to me." the Alpha ordered.
A werewolf came to William and took Dara from his arms. He took her to the Alpha. The Alpha looked at Dara and uttered, "I ordered you to kill her."
"We couldn't do that." Lenny spoke.
"What?" William exclaimed, "You promised me that she stays alive."
"William, the Alpha called us three secretly and asked us to kill her." Sabrina told.
"Why didn't you guys tell me?" William exclaimed.
"We thought it'll be easy but we couldn't do it." Stacy uttered.
"You know how much I love her!" William's eyes filled with tears.
"We're sorry William." Lenny hugged him.
William turned around to the Alpha and spoke, "You can keep her but I won't let you kill her father."
"I'm not your father. I'm the Alpha and can't you see she's a bad luck to the island." the Alpha spoke,
"All I can see is that she's the only love of my life and that you are the only monster here."
"Years ago I lost my best friend because of you. I was stupid back then but this time I won't let you take my love away from me."
"Get rid of her." the Alpha ordered a werewolf.
William transformed into a werewolf. He growled with anger.
"So today you want to fight with the Alpha." the Alpha spoke while standing up.
William growled again. The Alpha transformed and ran towards William. As soon as he came close, William hit his paw on Alpha's face. The Alpha fell at the other side and then he got up again. All the werewolves around them weren't transformed. They howled and clapped.
William and the Alpha looked at each other with anger filled in their eyes and moved in circles. The Alpha again jumped towards William and William hit him with his big paw. He ran to the Alpha and grabbed him from his mouth and dragged him. He put his paw in top of Alpha and howled loudly. The Alpha got knocked out.
The Alpha transformed into a person. Two of the werewolves brought a big shawl for him to cover up. William stepped aside and transformed back. Sabrina gave him a shawl too.
"So you decide to fight with your father for this girl?" the Alpha exclaimed.
"I thought I never had a father. All I had was the Alpha."
"Being my son, you have responsibilities towards your people. You are going to be the next Alpha. You need to think from your mind, not from your heart."
"If I have to be like you for being an Alpha, then I don't want to become one."
"I will not kill her but she remains in the dungeon." the Alpha told.
"And I stay with her." William said.
"Deal accepted." the Alpha said and ordered his werewolves to out Dara in the dungeon. William went after them.
The werewolves put Dara in the dungeon and locked it. William sat outside the dungeon and waited for Dara to wake up. After sometime she woke up. Her eyes slowly opened. She was having a headache. She found herself in a dirty cage and she found William outside the dungeon sleeping. She looked here and there to find a way to get out. There was a small window on top. Dara jumped to reach that window so she could get out from here.
"I'm glad you're awake." William said from behind.
"What do you want now?" Dara exclaimed.
"Dara just let me explain."
"You've got nothing to explain William. You're not a werewolf, you're a monster." Dara cried.
"Can we just talk?"
"What's left to talk now. You lied to me, then you left me and then you brought me here in this cage."
"You were the one who left."
"I left because you wanted me to. You were acting like you got fed up of me."
"I never wanted you to leave. There was stuff going on that I didn't want to tell you back then. I only wanted to protect you."
"Protect me from what?"
"The first night when you changed into a wolf, I saw you transform back and then I told Charles to keep you safe because being the son of the Alpha I was forced to kill you. I didn't tell anyone about you. I knew they'll kill you if they knew it was you. Everyone was searching for that unknown wolf."
"You knew that I was a wolf?"
"I also know that you're a vampire too."
"You spy on me?"
"No Dara, I don't spy. I just have to keep an eye on you for your safety. I can't let anything happen to you. This is strange. How can a werewolf be a vampire too?"
"I forced Wade to suck my blood."
"Vampires can never suck a werewolf's blood."
"He told me that I smelled like a human."
"You did but now you smell like nothing."
"This is all so strange."
"Dara don't worry. I'll get everything fixed soon."
"I…I've to tell you something William."
"I'm listening."
"I'm pregnant."
"Wow! Charles has a good speed." William chuckled.
"No William! It's not Wade's child."
"Then?"
"It's your child."
William got shocked and stood up.
"I can feel it. It's your child." Dara held Williams hand from the iron rods and put it on her belly, "Can you feel it too?"
"Dara I…I don't know what to say." William's eyes filled with tears.
"I couldn't get rid of it. I love our child." Dara cried.
"Shhh…" William held her face, "I love our child too. We won't get rid of it."
"There's something else you need to know."
"What is it?"
Dara told everything about Queen Eve.
"This is so confusing."
"I don't know what to do."
"This is why you are three in one. You were already a mixture of a human and a werewolf but after when Charles sucked your blood, you became a vampire."
"That's what I thought."
"The first thing is to get you out of here. I planned to sneak you out from here but after a while because as far as I know, the Alpha will kill you."
"But why do they all want to kill me?"
"Because you broke the rule that was made thousands of years ago by the Queen."
"Now what are we going to do?"
"Stay here. I'll go check if everyone's sleep and then we'll sneak out."
"Okay but don't keep me waiting. It feels horrible inside here."
"I promise I'll come back." William said this and left.
After about ten minutes, he came back with a big bunch of keys in his hands, "I've got the keys here. We'll quietly walk out from the town. It's five in the morning so everyone's asleep." William opened the cage and they both walked secretly away from the dungeon. They crossed the streets by hiding here and there.
"The Queen has returned." A lady said from behind.
William and Dara turned around. There was an old woman who bowed down on her knees. Dara went to her.
"What are you doing? We have to go." William whispered.
Dara ignored William and went to that lady.
"I know you would come to change everything. Now the war is over. There isn't much time left. You have to save your people from this chaos." that lady chuckled.
Dara kept quiet looking at her.
William held her arm and dragged her, "You'll get us both killed."
"What was she saying?"
"She's crazy. Everyone knows that."
"But she said the same thing that Queen Eve said."
"Dara let's not think about it now and try focusing on how to get you out from here safe."
They reached the middle of the jungle.
"I…I'm tired." Dara stopped.
"We can't stop here. It's not safe."
Suddenly someone rapidly pushed William to the tree. It was Wade. He grabbed William tightly from his neck. He looked at him with the most horrible looks. He had those fearful golden eyes and his teeth were as sharp as they could ever be.
"Wade stop!" Dara tried to pull Wade off.
"I know him Dara. We can't trust him." Wade exclaimed.
"I can't let you kill the father of my child." Dara screamed.
Wade suddenly held back. Dara quickly grabbed William. He coughed badly.
"You're fine now." Dara rubbed William's chest.
"The Alpha ordered to kill you because you knew every secret of the wolf town, because you were my best friend, because I always had the same thought as yours that werewolves and vampires can live together again. The Alpha thought you were a spy of the vampires so he ordered to kill you." William spoke while coughing, "I had no other choice but to make you feel that I betrayed our friendship. This was the only way to protect you Charles."
"Why didn't you tell me before?" Wade stood shocked and asked.
"If I'd tell you, I knew you wouldn't back off. I knew you would do whatever it takes to save our friendship and to bring all of us back together but I also know my father. I know the Alpha more than anyone can know. He would have killed you."
Dara got up and went to Wade, "I trust him Wade." She hugged Wade.
Wade moved a step towards William and held his hand towards him, "Welcome back dog!" he smiled.
William grabbed Wade's hand and got up. They both hugged.
"I was always there for you Charles."
"Call me Wade." Wade hit William, "You know I hate the name Charles."
"Charles I know you hate it." William laughed.
"We're back to where we started our friendship." Wade chuckled.
"I'm happy for you both but right now we should keep going." Dara uttered.
"Yeah! It's not safe out here." Wade spoke, "The chief's looking for me and the Alpha's looking for Dara."
They all got out from the jungle as quickly as possible.
