ROYAL PALACE, PUBLIC GARDEN
"So, what are you wearing to Lady Adeline's party?"
Elmira asks Lady Helena, who looks confused by the mention of a party as they both strolled through the main garden.
"What party?"
"You don't know about the party that Lady Adeline is having for all the ladies who have ever been involved in choosing the prince's wife?"
Elmira says it in an exaggerated, high-pitched, surprised tone.
"Every lady's assistants were told, though... I thought Vivian would tell you."
Elmira says under her breath, but loud enough for Lady Helena to hear her. Lady Helena stops walking and wipes her palms, which suddenly feel sweaty on her clothes.
"Do you also think Lady Vivian should take my place?"
Lady Helena says, making Elmira stop walking to see Lady Helena staring at her from behind. Elmira smiles faintly and walks back to Lady Helena.
"What do you mean, take your place?"
