Bab 23: Ch 23: You're even more hurt than before

Emma Rose had a tight grip on Lisa's wrist. Despite that harsh grip, Emma's touch felt gentle and soft.

The older was careful not to pressure Lisa's wounds, but her face showed none of that kindness.

A harsh expression combined with gritted teeth put Lisa on the edge. Her instincts were telling her to run, or she would be caught between the jaws of a predator.

Emma might not be speaking with her mouth, but her eyes scared Lisa. They held behind a madness threatening to consume her at the first sign of weakness.

"I am alright. I don't need your help. Please, let go of my wrist."

Lisa fought to free her wrist from Emma's gentle hands, and the taller woman released her at the first sign of resistance.

"Alright! I understand that you don't want to talk about it. Here, that leech asked me to give this to you."

Emma extended the small container of medicine to Lisa.
