If he did, he probably would have started one a long time ago.

'Besides, I've already been strongly enforcing monogamy for a while now. No need to scratch away at that and cause flakes to fall, now do I?'

It had been quite some time since the surrounding tribes disappeared for good. In other words, those tribes located close to the Creek had been subjugated and absorbed fully by now.

That meant that the Creek's warriors had to travel even further in order to increase the tribe's population. But the longer the distance, the greater the difference in culture became. That obviously also included the marriage customs.
