Bab 198: The First Moves
The three empires acted with caution but decisiveness. The Aurion Dominion sent emissaries disguised as merchants to assess Amber Heavens' defenses. These individuals carried enchanted artifacts meant to bypass the Amber Veil. However, the Silent Executioners intercepted them before they even reached the borders.
In Frostveil, Thrysk ordered small raiding parties to probe the northern borders of Amber Heavens. These raids were meant to gauge the empire's response, but the Frost Sentinels stationed in Frosthaven repelled the attackers with ease. Word of their defeat spread quickly, shaking the morale of Frostveil's warriors.
The Aetherion Ascendancy deployed magical constructs to infiltrate Amber Heavens. These constructs, powered by the Aether Nexus, were designed to collect data and return undetected. Yet, the Veil Dominion alerted Lyrus to their presence, and the constructs were swiftly dismantled by the Silent Executioners.
Despite their initial failures, the empires began to understand the scale of Amber Heavens' strength. Each decided to escalate their efforts, unwilling to back down.
