Bab 9: Building Trust
Kael, the older man who had recognized Lyrus' technique, followed him out of the village the next morning. Once a cultivator himself, Kael explained that his meridians had been crippled during a battle years ago. Though he could no longer fight, his knowledge of cultivation techniques and martial arts was vast.
"You have incredible potential," Kael said as they walked through the forest. "But raw power alone won't be enough. You'll need strategy, allies, and discipline."
Lyrus listened intently, realizing that Kael spoke the truth. His strength was immense, but he lacked refinement and control. Kael began teaching him how to focus his energy, offering insights into the Hellfire Technique that even the incomplete scroll hadn't revealed.
Over the next few days, the two grew closer. Kael's wisdom and loyalty reminded Lyrus of what his family once stood for. They practiced together, with Kael offering corrections as Lyrus honed his flames.
During one training session, Kael asked, "What do you plan to do with this power?"
Lyrus hesitated, then said, "Rebuild the HellSin name. Protect the weak. Burn down those who oppress others."
Kael nodded, a smile tugging at his lips. "Then I'll help you. You've given me purpose again."
As they journeyed together, word of Lyrus' strength began to spread. Travelers whispered of a young man who wielded flames like a god and defeated bandits with ease.
