Ah shit. There I go again with my bad habit of using analogies from my previous world.

"Nothing!" I smiled. "All I'm saying is that, tell me what you want to say. I promise I won't laugh or anything, unless it's funny."

Raegis's shifts grew less, as she took a deep breath. "Raegis wants to get a prize if she wins!" Then, her face turned beet red as she realized what she had just said.

My mouth hung open. And, here I thought she was going to say something like she didn't want to go to the Gate anymore or something like that.

All I could do was laugh, which only made her face turn an even darker shade of red.

I waved my hand to quell her worries. "No,no. It's not like I'm laughing at you. I'm just relieved that you didn't say what I thought you were going to say."

Raegis only tilted her head. "Hm?"

"Nevermind, but, hm, a reward huh?"

That gave me a blush of my own. Thinking about it, anyone touched by the Maiden's energy, while experiencing a boost in their abilities, natural or skill, should also be cursed with the unquenchable lust and thirst to fuck, breed, and mate.

Why wasn't Raegis basically pouncing onto me? Forget pouncing, she didn't even look like she wanted to kiss me so much. Ah, what was I thinking about a fucking child? Seriously, ever since I came to this world, I had been a little too caught up in their loose morals.

Hm, but then again, maybe I should test the waters a little bit. Since, if it means that that specific demerit in receiving my or the Maiden's blessing had been removed, that would open up a lot, and I mean a lot of possibilities. For example, Kingdoms wanting me to build their own demi-god armies? Not if I build my own first.

Alright. Let's try it.

Adopting my most seductive voice, I got close and personal to Raegis and whispered into her ears. "If you beat me, I'm going to give you a verrrrry good reward."

Immediately, Raegis's ears turned pink but still, no signs of being a mindless fucking machine from the curse. I decided to go a step further.

"And if I win, I get to decide what I'm going to do to this hot," My fingers trailed down her abs, "little," and then down to her navel, dangerously close to her cock that was most likely throbbing like crazy. "Body."

Raegis's body stiffened, and her boner was like a tower from her pants. While mentally berating myself for never being able to have such a thing, I noted that even with this much, she still wasn't lust-crazed yet.

That brought a smile to my face.

Blowing into her sensitive ears, she let out a high-pitched moan as I giggled before taking my running stance. Oh, it was pretty fun to flirt like this once in a while. No wonder the girls liked to play with men back in my real world.

"But, that's only if you manage to beat me," I channeled chi into my body, and more specifically, down to my quads. "Which is not going to happen."

That must have aroused Raegis's hunting instincts. I felt her lust disappear, and instead sharpened into adrenaline most likely fueled by the fact that in her eyes, I was probably a little rabbit, a little rabbit she would catch, fuck and eat.

Oh, how naiive, little wolf. I wasn't planning to be caught so easily.

"3," Chi revved in my legs.

"2," Raegis howled, before pushing backwards, putting power into her legs for an ungodly acceleration.

Before I could say the final number, a leaf fell before our face and I simply waited until the leaf fell onto the ground. Simply waiting, waiting, and waiting, before finally.

It hit the ground.

"1."

Then, we were off.

Wind blew across my face. There wasn't much distance to be covered now between me and the Gate of Steel, but there was still bad news to be found. A glance back, and I could see that even in my current speed, Raegis was still able to catch me as the both of us sped through the woods in speeds that should be physically impossible.

I mean, how many mortals could you see running through the woods at train speeds. But then, unfortunately, in this world, we were still so slow it wasn't even funny.

With chi pumping through my heart, and into my legs, the world was a blur. And, with my eyes doused in chi as well, I could easily trace the best and easiest path to the Gate Of Steel.

Unfortunately, Raegis had the same ability with her heart as the navigation, so she was still able to catch up to me even if I did all those zig-zag maneuvers in front of her. Hell, I was even a little petty and decided to fake-run into a trap which was full of WildMonkeys hiding in ambush for some prey or something, but then she just sliced them all without even losing speed, and caught up to me in no-time.

I did feel pretty bad for the WildMonkeys who had died so unnecesarily but I couldn't afford to lose this competition.

I had been sorely mistaken. By thinking that I was bound to win, I had stupidly made the decision to agree to her request by a reward and even more stupidly, agreed to give her a lewd one at that. Well, it wasn't more agreed but suggested.

Still, at this rate, there was a high chance that I was going to lose. And, my pride simply didn't allow that.

So, what did I do?

Gritting my teeth, I called for more chi to be pumped into my legs, forgoing the few that had been traveling to other parts of my body, and then I upgraded from the realm of trains to bullet-trains.

The world more than just blurred from my eyes. It turned into lines as I slowly but surely approached Mach 1 while a bright smile split across my cheeks. I had always wondered if I could run faster, go at a faster speed but always withdrew around 200 mph simply because I was scared of the bodypain I would suffer after.

I mean, sure I was still going to suffer from extreme muscle soreness later but running at this speed was more than worth it.

But then, I felt something shine on the back of my head. And, was that huffing and puffing I heard?

My eyes widened. No way.

Turning back, just as I had thought, Raegis was still able to catch up to me even though I was probably around 500 mph right now, only 200 short of Mach 1! Then, I saw the glow of silver around her body and cursed at how unfair the world was.

Unfortuantely, I wasn't the only one who had an awakening in the world of speed. Using my eyes, I could see that Raegis had the ingenious awakening of applying the concept of her power, of the ability [Connect] with herself, effectively boosting her speed through the power of her Steel.

I looked forward. Monsters tried to attack, but they were too slow now. We simply passed through them before they could even reach us, and we must have appeared as a white/silver blur to them.
