As the arena emptied and the tension dissipated, King Zhu Longwei approached Zhu Yongzhen and Ye Chen at the backstage. His expression was filled with approval. He placed a hand on Zhu Yongzhen's shoulder and said, "Yongzheng, It is clear that Ye Chen possesses exceptional talent and potential. I grant you permission to allow him access to our exclusive library. Only those who is deemed worthy can have this privilege, but Ye Chen has proven himself worthy."
Zhu Yongzheng bowed deeply, knowing that with Ye Chen's potential, he'll surely gain something at the library. "Thank you, brother. I'm sure that my grandson will make the most out of this opportunity."
Ye Chen felt a surge of excitement. He had heard about this so-called library from his grandfather when they were walking on the Castle's grand corridor. It is a place filled with wisdom and powerful techniques, reserved only for the most elite members of the family, or to someone who had greatly contributed to the Empire.

The next day, Zhu Yongzheng led Ye Chen to the library. The building stood majestically, its entrance guarded by imposing statues of what seems to be some warriors. The doors were intricately carved with symbols of power and knowledge, it was also covered by a dome of what looks like a shield that covered the whole building, greatly showing the importance and the treasures within.
As they stepped inside, Ye Chen was struck by the large collection of books. Shelves upon shelves of scrolls, tomes, and books filled the vast space, each one containing valuable techniques and knowledge accumulated over centuries. The air was thick with the scent of old parchment.
"Remember, Ye Chen," Zhu Yongzheng said, "this library contains techniques from Low Rank cultivation and martial arts techniques. There's also some Spirit rank and even the Exquisite Rank techniques. Study diligently, make the most out of this, and you will surely unlock your true potential."
Ye CHen nodded, his eyes already scanning the titles. He reached out for a book entitled "Basics of Fire Manipulation: Fireball Technique," a Low Rank Technique. As he opened it, a strange sensation washed over him, and a faint ring sound echoed in his mind.

Ye Chen blinked in surprise as an translucent interface appeared before his eyes, displaying information about the new system.
Proficiency System: When practicing techniques, you gain proficiency over time depending on the talent. Reading or practicing the technique will grant you proficiency points per second, and reaching a certain threshold will directly unlock deeper understanding and mastery of the technique.
Ye Chen's eyes widened in excitement. He began to read the "Fireball Technique" book, and immediately, he noticed a small counter in the corner of his vision:

He continued reading, feeling a sense of wonder as the counter steadily increased. With each passing second, his understanding of the fireball technique grew.
Less than 20 minutes later...
Ye Chen felt a surge of knowledge and power flowing through him as the counter reached 1000, a notification appeared.

Ye Chen's mind was suddenly filled with detailed knowledge about the fireball technique. He understand the principles, and variations of the fire ball. He stood up, his hands glowing with a faint, fiery aura as he tested his newfound knowledge. A small fireball formed in his palm, controlled and ready to be unleashed.
"With this, I can now probably conjure a more effective, efficient, and powerful Fireball, instead of what I do out of my boredom where I just discriminately conjure fire which is greatly inefficient for my power." Ye Chen thought.
'Anyways, I should probably dive deeper to this system's function.'
The Proficiency System flashed another notification in Ye Chen's mind, providing more detailed information about its function.

He felt a sense of awe and excitement as he approached the section where these advanced techniques were housed. The air was thick with the lingering energy of countless powerful cultivators who had studied here before him. The books themselves seemed to hum with latent power, each one contains a gateway to incredible abilities.
Ye Chen carefully selected a Spirit Rank book titled "Inferno Dragon's Wrath," a technique known for its devastating fire-based attacks. As he opened the book and began to read, the Proficiency System activated once more, and he felt the familiar sensation of knowledge pouring into his mind.

A thick, heavy book filled with dust fell from the top shelf, hitting Ye Chen on the head and causing him to stumble. Rubbing his head, he picked up the book and, out of curiosity, swiped the dust off the cover. To his surprise, he saw a title that made his heart skip a beat. Epic Rank! And it was a Cultivation Technique.
Ye Chen's eyes widened, and he felt a rush of excitement and disbelief. "This... This is incredible!" he muttered tp himself, his hands slightly trembling as he opened the book. The pages were filled with intricate diagrams and profound insights, each page contained words of immense power and knowledge.
Flabbergasted by his unexpected find, Ye Chen devoted himself entirely to reading the book. The Proficiency System was on, and he started to immerse himself on it's contents, absorbing every detail with intense focus. The day passed in a flash, his mind racing with new possibilities and techniques.

Looking at the time, knowing that he spent too much time in the library, he was slightly panicked then he quickly left to find his younger brother and sister.
