Bab 51: The Empress's disappointment

The Emperor was on a rampage after the news reaching him divulged the suffering of his people the previous day and the Shogun's involvement.

He couldn't believe his ears and immediately stormed the Empress's chambers in that rage.

Empress Himiko was truly surprised to hear from her maidservant that he was in her chambers. When last did he grace her with his presence?

Without wasting time, she put on her plain silky robe and stepped out of her sleeping chambers with a smile on her face like an idle person who just got offered a contract.

"Your Majesty!" Her soft voice called out before her slim figure could even emerge in the sitting quarters.

Everything she learned in her etiquettes classes during the time she was undergoing training to become the Empress, vanished completely from her head.

She was in such a hurry that she forgot to dress properly before leaving her sleeping chambers in her night robe.
