Bab 1331: Leaving

"If you miss me, just look up at the sky. The stars are our children and the moon is me," Qiao Mei said with a smile as she pointed at the sky.

"Then what am I? Am I the night sky?" Xia Zhe asked curiously.

"You're the sun! The sun that belongs to me and the children! All of us revolve around you," Qiao Mei said agitatedly.

There was a long night ahead and they did not waste it by staying in the courtyard. The two of them spent a tender night together. The next morning, Xia Zhe left the house when Qiao Mei was still asleep. He did not want her to send him off, otherwise she would cry again. If he had to watch her send him off, he would not be in the mood to return to the army.

When Qiao Mei woke up, she reached out to the other side of the bed out of habit. It was already cool to the touch. She lay on the bed for a long time and remained in a daze until Feng Hua came to wake her up.

Oh… he was already long gone…
