Ringkasan
The first thing my childhood sweetheart's did after becoming a wealthy woman was to ask me to marry her, in my poor and destitute state, went to her family to become the son-in-law.
“Marry me, and you can live in luxury cars and mansions as you please.
No need for work or household chores
Plenty of pocket money every day, amounting to a five-figure sum
And if you want kids, I'll bear as many as you wish.”
But when I became this toy boy, I gradually discovered the sickly yandere and perverted control side of my childhood sweetheart...
An accident brought me back to the past, live my life again.
This time, facing the temptation of childhood sweethearts, I decisively refused!
In this new life, my slogan is, drum up the wallet, and stay away from the rich woman!
Me: "Sorry, I am the man you can never get in this life no matter how much money you spend!"

Tulis ulasanYou can rarely find a good romance novel these days, and I think this one can definitely qualify. Unlike the typical materialistic and shallow Chinese cast all the characters seem like actual people rather than just certain archetypes. The story manages to grasp the charm of Chinese culture without being overbearing and unlike the nomal wish fulfillment self-insert type feeling most Chinese novels live to have. The MC basically regressed back in time and is doing his damnest to avoid getting entangled with his childhood sweetheart/ex-wife who became a controlling yandere back in his past life. He also, luckily gets to know a sweet wheelchair bound girl with traditional submissive Chinese tendencies at almost the same time he gets back. However, things are not always so clear cut. Decades of memories spent together and his new approach is causing a lot of tangled emotions. Personally, I'm a sucked for childhood love blossoming into something better. And yes she is a bit psycho but I'm sure the MC can fix her with some targetted neglect play. LOL! My only complaint is whenever something Chinese specific comes up that only native Chinese readers can understand, but it is never explained properly or is just translated literally probably because this was just a machine translation. Aside from that its really enjoyable because of how genuine the whole thing reads to me.
At 25 chapters, it's a bit early to review, but I just want to say that the start is quite promising. The writing is quite good for a web novel, the translation quality is high for this platform, and the story premise isn't overused. The central characters have some psychological depth, particularly the yandere, whose character development also feels just right, neither too slow nor too sudden. The romantic development (between the MC and the other heroine besides the yandere, whom he's still trying to shake off) is quite nice: while the MC is highly focused on making money in order to pay off his family debts without having to sell his freedom to the rich yandere childhood friend, the story also gives enough cute moments between him and the second heroine to satisfy my romantic cravings. The dialogue is, at least for me, highly entertaining. There are some minor flaws here and there, for example the MC seems unable to just straight out tell his mom that he no longer likes the yandere (who acts like a good daughter-in-law with her), which gives the impression that he's a tad spineless, but considering all the circumstances, I personally don't find it too annoying. I really have to say that so far, I've enjoyed this quite a lot.
great story line, the background for the story is really interesting, how the main character was sent back in time

I've read up to chapter 197, and the characters are well-rounded, with just the right pace of development. The dialogue is excellent and not cliche. The translation is top-notch as well, with only two pronoun issues. It feels very human and very Chinese without the usual overbearing nonsense. I was a sucker for the staircase climbing scene as well as the ice-cream and river scenes. Well worth the read. Thank you, author.
