CANDI WAS SAD TO leave the sand behind. She hadn't gone to the beach as much as she'd have liked, mostly because it felt pathetic to go alone. Wesley always had something going on or was hanging out with his supposed work buddies. On a purely human level, she liked being on this walk with Q. That it was him made it more complicated, at least on an internal level.

It was all too easy to recall moments from their past and all the times she'd come so close to breaking that understood boundary between them.

Of course, she'd known she still harbored feelings for him before today. Candi tried to be a realist about things. She'd had to admit that she was hung up on him after her first attempt at trolling a bar had left her staring into the eyes of a man she knew was attractive and into her. The issue was her. Her heart, and therefore her body, were hung up on Q. She just hadn't known her feelings for him would be this intense.
