The next morning…

When Natasha woke up, she found herself on the sofa. She gradually remembered coming to the hall and sobbing on the sofa. She had no idea when she had fallen asleep.

A sharp contraction in her stomach made her whimper as she tried to get up. She winced, putting her hands on her baby bump. Earl was sleeping beside her, sitting on the carpet with his head on the sofa, his arm around her waist.

She gently stroked his stubble-covered jaw. This was such a sweet and peaceful moment. She prayed to God to restore this peace in their lives.

"Mm…" He twitched his eyebrows and fluttered open his eyes.

"Good morning," she greeted him with a smile.

He sat upright, rubbing his eyes. "What time is it?"

"No idea." She rose to her feet, enduring the discomfort. "You must be starving. I will prepare breakfast first."

The contraction intensified as she moved slowly to the kitchen. She pressed her lips together.
