But Milo's assignments were dreadfully dull. Playing the role of a demon to torment civilians, only for Milo to swoop in and gain their gratitude... It felt like child's play. 

The man couldn't fathom why Milo enjoyed this game so much. Initially, he found some joy in tormenting the civilians, but he quickly grew bored.

Now, committing these acts of cruelty was merely to maintain his image. 

Occasionally, he would secretly bestow small favors upon the civilians. The mix of fear and gratitude on their faces brought him a peculiar satisfaction. 

Despite oppressing them to the point of suffocation, just a slight gesture of mercy would leave them speechless with gratitude. It was indeed amusing.

Black Crocodile gulped down half a bottle of liquor. He considered spitting some corrosive liquid again but decided against it.
