Bab 31: Contest and Deeper Floors.
Tsubaki and I headed to the forge. Hephie was a few feet behind us. It seems like she wanted to personally judge this match.
''Is this what you were working on?'' She gestured to the items on the side of the forge.

She drew close to them, grabbed the sword and rotated it a few times, and made some observations. She took the armor
and checked up on it for a few moments.
''*Whistle* This is some impressive piece of gear. No wonder you had confidence in him, huh? Can't believe I'm not too surprised this is a magic item.''
''It's not a true magic item for now.'' I shook my head '' It can't take too much stress.''
''This guy... I imagine you're not stupid enough to start advertising about making magic swords, right?'' Said Tsubaki.
''Let's not talk about it, okay? I already got an hour lecture from Hephie about it.'' I groaned. ''So what's it gonna be captain? Chickened out?'' I called her out.
''In your dreams!'' She grinned, sounding not at all discouraged.
We decided to work with Adamantine ores to make a pair of sword and armor, smiths that could work with Adamantine are very far and few in between.
It was naturally me who won the contest, but it seems like that lit a fire under Tsubaki, I could almost see her eyes burning with unrelating defiance.
''Thank you.'' Hephie hugged me from behind. ''I could not remember the last time I've seen Tsubaki like that. She needed a rival.'' She smiled giving me a simple kiss on the neck.
That turned into a steaming make-out session.

'Well, damn. That's good.' I whistled in my mind.

I am currently on the deep floors using the marker I put out before. The 30th floor was full of plant crops and monsters. The crops and herbs here were very valuable according to Miach.
The Bloodsaurus was a mini T-Rex sitting at 6 meters(19ft) in height. It even had the little arm things that also served no actual purpose. It was scarlet in color, true to its name.
My new-made sword cut through the hide of the monster like a hot knife through butter. Although a prototype magic sword, it was unlike the magic swords of this world. I just had to lower the intensity of the magic input, it wouldn't just break. Or, it could be used as a traditional sword as well.
The monsters on these floors were mostly level 4s, some were near the cusp of reaching level5 as well. Alas, they never stood a chance.
As I was thinking that. In a brilliant stroke of luck, my eyes landed on a pretty strange place. Some kind of room-like structure boxed with leaves and branches.
I saw something I was expecting, yet didn't want to deal with so much.

I had a foreboding feeling, so I focused more intently on the body of the infected monsters.
[Jewel Fetus.]
The catalyst that allows the creation of corrupted spirits, is a spirit monster hybrid. Its origin is unknown for now. The strength and degree of spirit purity depend on the percentage of corruption before the Metamorphosis.
There were a couple of dozen of monsters in that vegetative state, all kinds of variants. Although, the majority were humanoid monster variants.
The moment I entered the room, the dungeon itself was shaking and roaring in an astonishingly intelligent and responsive way. I managed to blow up the whole room and collect some Jewel Fetuses into my Inventory before I was violently evicted out of it.
The room has somehow been reallocated as well, almost disappearing out of existence.
And the dungeon showed its displeasure by showering me with monster waves.
'Awwh, you didn't have to bring me this gift.' I thought sarcastically.
I even saw some monsters that should most definitely not be on the floors I was currently in.
The floor caved in for a moment, and I sidestepped. What came out of the relatively deep channel hole connecting to the deeper floors was something nightmare-inducing for Entomophobic people.

It was a massive worm with a blue exoskeleton , it had eighteen amber creepy eyes on its head. The head resembled a cone, the tip getting sharper the more you move towards its mouth, wide enough to swallow an Orc whole.
The skittering crawling sounds it made as it got close to me were as equally as creepy.

Luckily, the dungeon floors were indeed very large.
I just decided to cook it alive, considering I could see some other monsters crawl from the hole it crawled out of, I have made a good decision.
'Holy Shit' I widened my eyes, taking a look at the sheer amount of monsters climbing from the hole, totally focused on me.
