Clary sat in the backseat of the car, unable to ignore the discomfort and frustration that gripped her. Her stomach and lower back ached with an intensity that had only worsened over the past three days. The pills she had taken on the full moon night seemed to be making it worse. She cursed herself for increasing the dosage. "I should have stuck to two."

She reached into her bag and pulled out the brightly coloured packet she had taken from her grandfather's bedroom. Clary considered putting the powder in her mouth then and there to relieve, but she hesitated. She is in a car and a situation like this...She shook her head, deciding to dilute it and drink at the Coffee House.
