Bab 78: Reckless Brute

Leandre felt his sanity slipping away as he engaged in conversation with Clary. He was the man whom people feared, and now he found himself reduced to nothing more than a gossiping schoolgirl by her. To make matters worse, he is talking about himself with her. What worse he has to hear and see in the future?

Leandre was just about to steer the conversation in a different direction when Xanth strode into the room with the file he had requested. Instead of placing it directly into Leandre's outstretched hand, Xanth set it down on the bed. It was clear that he was still reeling from the Astraea dispute, unable to let it go. 

"I am leaving," Xanth said.

"Why the rush? You have just arrived." Leandre countered coolly, nonchalantly flipping through the pages of the file. "You can leave with Knox and Dustin together."
