Bab 84: Mermaid ditch her tail

As Clary observed her friend's stunned expressions at her untidy hair, she pondered why they were so taken aback. Nevertheless, when she followed their line of sight and caught a glimpse of Leandre's shirt, which was slightly rumpled and adorned with circles and rectangles, it all clicked. She cursed under her breath, irritated by their wild imaginations.

"We..we.. were just talking about Myra." Clary quickly clarified to her friends and Ross, fixing Leandre with a pointed stare to convey the same. As he nodded in confirmation, a sense of relief flooded over her, but his next utterance caught her off guard.

"Well." He drawled lazily, gazing at her friends and lingered on Ross. "Try not to dwell on what happened in the car between us. It could give you nightmares tonight," He warned, adding fuel to the fire of speculation. He then shot Clary a mischievous wink before turning to make his exit.
