Chapter 223: Different Ways of Utilizing SPE
"Are you ready, Boy?"
Arash nodded solemnly.
"I repeat, as per our agreement, I will bring you up after six hours. Now is 11.30 am." Tok Silihan wore Arash's smartwatch on his wrist as he scrutinized the numbers.
"At 6 pm, I will remove the soil, we will rest for three hours before we continue, and then, depending on the situation, we will proceed with the second round. Try what you want to try, but remember to work hard and focus. Your time is limited."
Arash closed his eyes calmly. Maybe, due to previous experiences, he wasn't nervous at all. In fact, he couldn't wait to see his love on the other side.
Arash could feel soft earth slowly filling up the 'grave' he was in, but he ignored that feeling and focused on entering his Soul Core.
Arash regulated his breathing with the mouthpiece given to him and willed for the minuscule multicolored soul particles to move from the surface of his skin to his Soul Core.
He pushed, he coaxed.
Finally, a few particles relented and started to move slowly.
It was still pretty hard. But, thanks to his daily persistence, it wasn't as difficult as before.
Ten minutes.
That was the time Arash took to dive into his Soul Core.
Within, he spent a few seconds observing the nucleus absorbing the digitally-generated Soul Particle Energy.
It was fascinating.
Just like a mindless machine in the form of a black hole, gobbling up raw materials and converting them into something new.
Three brand new bluish SPEs appeared and slowly moved away from the nucleus. The conversion rate was 1:3, showing that his wife's soul energy was stronger and higher in quality compared to his despite their abundance in number.
He stopped focusing on his senses and let his mind free.
Total darkness enveloped him.
...
..
.
Arash opened his eyes again to see a different view. He was inside a building. He wasn't sure how to describe this building.
The walls are polished greenish-white marble with natural curves, embedded with white pearls the size of a golf ball from bottom to top. Or was it pingpong balls?
The roundish gem-like things were even embedded on the ground's surface, giving off a high-end vibe.
He could see a few gigantic termites moving by at the periphery of his wife's vision. Wherever the termites scurried over, the floor glowed a gentle soft green.
Strange.
He felt something wasn't right. But what was this feeling of inconsistency?
Arash looked at the limited space around him. It only encompassed his wife's range of vision within the gloomy interior of the posh space.
A fluffy white couch or rug enveloping his wife.
A silently standing red-colored termite with flaming antennae not too far away. It wasn't moving, just standing there without doing anything.
A pinkish plate-like material on the glowing floor, filled with tropical fruits.
A bamboo cup filled with drinking water, presumably.
Arash was silent for a while as he couldn't think what wasn't right.
In front of his sight, covering 40% of the whole vision was a worn-out smartphone, opened at the Gallery app. Arash could see his wife's right hand holding it and swiping through the pictures of him and the kids rapidly.
The pictures moved forward until he started to see unbelievable images.
The iffy feeling disappeared as he started to focus on the pictures he never saw.
His wife's full-bodied picture making a mini-heart pose. She was still wearing her favorite brown sweater and faded gray jeans, albeit her garments looked so worn out. His heart felt a twinge of guilt for not being able to do anything for her.
Sigh.
Anyway, the bushy teen-sized white fox creature standing beside her was also making a mini-heart with its right paw, while a tiny black snake was dangling over her neck like a necklace. The background was a dark forest, but since they were beside a stream, the lighting was good.
His wife showed off four big-ass smoked catfishes with her right and left hands with a cheeky grin. A little yellowish-black bird was perching on top of her head, making her look comical. The fishes were as long as half of his wife's height. It must be very heavy to hold all four of them. Did his wife become stronger than him already?
His wife's extremely long braided hair, nearly touching the forest floor, riding a mean-looking black ant-like thing with wings. She seemed to have found something to change into. It looked like black tights inside her now rag-like clothes. It was totally badass.
Ohh, at least this pic looked normal!
His wife stood in front of a gigantic multilayered waterfall! It was breathtaking and majestic at the same time.
His wife riding a pink dolphin in mid-air. She was immersed in a gigantic water bubble together with the dolphin. This picture made Arash feel extremely concerned! How long did she have to hold her breath to be able to take this shot?!
Was that round brownish thing a bird? That round thing was snuggling on top of his wife's lap who was sitting cross-legged on the edge of a hill-like area. She was smiling at the camera from the side. Arash could feel his blood run cold as he saw hundreds of birds circling her periphery. There were so many birds that it looked as if they were on their way to attack her. If she fell, it would be like falling from a three-storey high building.
Who was taking all these unbelievable pictures?!
If he didn't know better, he would immediately stamp these astonishing pictures as AI-generated images!
Arash realized his wife's condition was getting better. She was more toned and seemed to get understandably tanner due to the tropical sunlight exposure.
She looked happy.
Arash felt happy for her, yet hurt at the same time. It was a complicated feeling.
The Gallery app was suddenly minimized, showing the home screen.
It was 11.55 a.m.
"Five minutes to go."
He could hear his wife's voice.
Ahh, his wife was waiting for him. She didn't know that he was there already, but seeing that she waited for 12.00 pm, it meant that she had read the message and was eager to meet him.
Arash smiled.
"Let's go, Shi-chan. Accompany Mommy."
...
Finally, it was 12.00 pm again.
This was the second day Hana waited for Arash.
In the beginning, Hana still didn't feel any different. She waited and looked around. As always, her guardian angel Shiro was there by her side. But Kuro was away. He informed Hana that he wanted to continue observing the Subterranean area since the Terra Earthworm hadn't made its intended appearance even after the usual 'feeding time' had passed last night.
No matter. Let's just start.
Hana closed her eyes gently and started to hum the Lightning Emperor Divinity Soul chant under her breath.
"!!!"
She could feel it!
...
No matter. Let's just start.
Arash could hear Hana's telepathic voice as clearly as he could hear her natural voice. Since he technically couldn't talk, he tried to talk internally to his beloved wife.
Ayang? Can you hear me?
Ayang?
Unfortunately, it seemed that his 'voice' didn't manage to reach his beloved.
Ayang, Hana here. I could feel your presence.
Arash, "!!!"
Arash could hear his wife talking to him telepathically. She finally noticed! Did she hear his voice?
I can't hear your response, but I know you're there. I can feel you. Specifically, I can feel the chants are being siphoned out through the Bellflower Bridge. Let's call it that for now. Hana chuckled slightly.
He was slightly disappointed with Hana's inability to listen to his response. But he was sure the problem came from his end. It might be because they still didn't fully understand the rules involved in communicating properly, or worse, maybe it's just because he was too weak to send information over. However, he smiled in his heart hearing about the illusory bridge's name.
Alright, as we discussed, let's finish up this bridge as soon as possible and see what will happen.
I will increase the intensity of the chant once a day at 12 pm like what we planned before.
Although Hana was talking to him telepathically, Arash could still hear Hana's real voice chanting outside. Arash could only see whatever Hana could see using her eyes. Hence, when she closed her eyes to meditate like now, he couldn't see anything at all.
I wonder, knowing you were able to see through my eyes, did you manage to see inside my Soul Hall Domain?
I would love to show you my Soul Hall Domain, Ayang. It is very lively. Hana laughed lightheartedly.
Oh, and Soul Hall Domain is the same as the Soul Core you mentioned. It is the central location to produce and distribute Soul Energy to others.
Distribute? Arash blankly responded with a question internally. Now, that was something very different from his personal experience dealing with SPE.
"!!!"
Now he knew what was the iffy feeling he was having just now!
Hana's outer body wasn't surrounded by any SPE!
None at all!
As someone who used his wife's SPE daily, he knew how strong they were. Since Hana had started for quite some time, she would've been immersed in a larger pool of SPE surrounding her.
So, where did all the SPE go?
Someone as intelligent as Arash connected the dots almost immediately.
Hana utilized SPE differently as compared to him. From the type of chant she has and the number of Soul Slaves she claimed as pets, Arash speculated that she used the SPE as a basis for binding the Soul Slaves to her Soul Hall Domain.
Hence, all the SPE generated stayed within the Soul Core, or the Soul Hall Domain to be utilized more effectively, without spilling out.
As Arash was thinking through the different applications of this unique energy, his Soul Core Nucleus started to heat up. He welcomed this familiar feeling and started to focus on building up his Origin SPE as much as possible.
...
To Readers who might be confused about SPE/SEP;
SPE (Soul Particle Energy) is the same as SEP (Soul Energy Particle)
If you noticed, sometimes, Arash talked about his soul power in terms of wave/energy form, and sometimes he scrutinized into a singular form (particle).
mehhh..mrs.mooncat actually a bit lazy to synchronize the acronym ahaha (real reason)
