Irina and the others also laughed when Kate said this, showing that Kate was telling the truth. Tanya was embarrassed when the vampires talked about her failure in front of Paul, who was a guest.
"That's not true, I knew Edward and Edythe could read my mind, but I didn't care that Edward knew what I was thinking about him. But it was embarrassing when Edythe saw what I was thinking about her brother and told all the Cullens," Tanya said irritably.
"That still means it's your fault, Tanya. After all, she didn't make anything up, she just read your thoughts," Irina said to further irritate Tanya.
Paul also laughed and became less worried. He understood why Tanya's sisters were trying to irritate her. Tanya became even more beautiful and cute when she was angry. Besides, he couldn't even imagine what it was like to live with siblings for almost a thousand years.
"Okay, let's not talk about it anymore. Edward, as I said, still doesn't have a mate, but Edythe already has a mate. His name is Jasper Hale," Tanya said.
"Jasper Hale is another one of Carlisle's adopted children, but he wasn't transformed by Carlisle. He participated in the Southern vampire Wars and was one of the few fighters to survive. He is the best fighter in the Cullen family," Tanya said.
Paul was shocked again when he learned that Jasper was not Alice's mate. In the movies, they always stayed together, but it seemed like Paul remembered that in the books, vampire love wasn't like the wolves who had imprinting.
It seemed like Jasper started to like Alice because of his powers. Jasper's abilities allowed him to share the feelings of a person with him, or his own with other people.
Alice had a vision many years before of her loving Jasper and living with him, and so Jasper felt through his powers the same joy and emotion that Alice felt. Furthermore, Jasper felt hope in being able to live with Alice and change his life by feeding on animals and stopping drinking human blood.
Then Jasper didn't actually fall in love with Alice at first sight and didn't have a connection with her, but he fell in love with her after sharing the feelings that Alice had for him. Alice could say that it was fate that she fell in love with Jasper.
Alice may not have really fallen in love with Jasper either. She lived a very miserable life as a human and was abandoned in an asylum by her father who was a monster worse than vampires, and when she was transformed, Alice lost her memories with the pain of the venom.
So maybe Alice's mind forced her to have a vision of a happy future to give her hope, that's how Alice saw herself in love with Jasper and living a happy life with the Cullens and being vegetarian.
Carlisle didn't love Esme before transforming her, he just didn't want her to die and also wanted a companion, after they fell in love, Paul remembered that Rosalie also fell in love with Emmett when he was human and transformed him to save his life, and Emmett fell in love with her.
Edward fell in love with Bella and she fell in love with him, then he turned her into a vampire, so it could be said that vampires just fell in love normally and it wasn't always reciprocated.
Only Cullen's story is very successful, Tanya was proof of that for having fallen in love with Edward and knowing that he fell in love with someone else. What Paul thought was that vampires thought differently from humans and had different feelings, so when they fell in love, it was forever.
Paul could understand that after all, he loved his wife in every moment of his past life, and only didn't have the same feelings because at his request God took that love from his heart and he only had happy memories.
"I also heard that Carlisle recently adopted another daughter, her name is Alice Cullen, she was wandering the world and was also a vegetarian, I don't know what happened to her, who knows when the Cullens will come to Alaska again," said Tanya.
"I think it's going to take a while, Edward must be running away from you, sister," Kate joked.
All the vampires laughed at Tanya, who became annoyed and gave up on telling more stories. Paul was intrigued to learn that Alice had recently joined the Cullens. She must have had a vision that they were a good family and that she would be happy with them, but Paul didn't know why it took her so long to have that vision.
In the books and movies, she dreamed of Jasper and the Cullens since becoming a vampire. The hope of a happy life kept her going and led her to adopt a vegetarian diet. She waited 28 years to meet Jasper and then only took two years to find the Cullens.
Paul hoped that Alice was still the same as in the movies and that she had found another companion with her visions. This way, she could go with her partner to find the Cullens, and perhaps Tanya wouldn't know.
After this conversation, Tanya moved away from her sisters, still upset that they had teased her. Paul saw that Tanya was alone and decided to seize the opportunity to talk to her. He was interested in Tanya and knew she was the only one without a companion, which made him like her even more.
"Don't get too angry about it, Tanya. I know your sisters were just teasing you, and what they said wasn't true," Paul said.
"I'm glad you know. Don't worry, I've lived with my sisters for almost a thousand years, I'm used to them, but they still annoy me," Tanya said.
"But I understand why they annoy you. After all, you look even more beautiful when you're annoyed," Paul said.
Tanya only laughed and didn't respond. Paul didn't want to give up and tried to find out what Tanya thought of him. He wasn't in love with her, but he had been alone for 10 years without the love he felt for his wife. Paul wanted to try to have a relationship with Tanya.
"I really liked the story you were telling, especially about being called a succubus. I know many men who would consider that a compliment," Paul said.
