As he approached the table, Smith tightened his grizzled jaw.

  My pulse quickened. What on earth was he doing in this place? Did he follow me, or was it just a coincidence? I got to my feet as my legs shook.

Dane signaled for me to sit down with one hand facing down after he had already stood up. I'll take care of this.

Smith turned away from my glare and instead met his cousin face-to-face. His skin turned a shade of red, and his nostrils flared. Did you have sex with Livia?

Dane gave him a stern look before cracking his neck in several directions. He seemed prepared for anything, and his enormous shoulders were every bit as sculpted as Smith's.

The air was thick with testosterone, adrenaline, and scent. The two fierce warriors faced each other and prepared to use any means required to attack and protect.
