Eventually, the group landed, but there was still no sign of Basileus or Ebari who were busy with work.
Varya knew that birthdays were a new concept to them but she couldn't help being slightly saddened at the thought that they wouldn't be by her side throughout the day.
She went back to her quarters intending to sulk in her bedroom but when they arrived, there was food already put out and waiting for them so they could eat a late lunch.
"Oh, what's this?" Varya said upon seeing the spread. "I didn't ask for this."
Except she couldn't resist going forward and observing the stacks of small sandwiches and bowls full of fresh fruit despite the cold season outside. There were even small, bite-sized desserts stacked up on trays. It looked like a little tea party.
"It must be for you," Galen said.
He was pretending to not know what it was about but he wasn't very convincing.
