Bab 93: Never Kill Again

There was an underlying nervous tension whenever the emperor was present. As he made his request for someone else to test the aura gun first, all eyes went to Varya expectantly, wondering if she was going to back down.

Those who knew of her plans were looking at her expectantly while those who didn't know about them were scared, knowing how unpredictable the emperor could be at times.

Feeling so many eyes on her, Varya was grateful her son was a safe distance away with Solana, none the wiser at the danger his mother was about to put herself through. He was also the reason she had to push herself forward and continue with the plans despite how her heart was racing. She wanted to see him again.

Galen heard his name come from the emperor and he bounded forward, having to pretend he was none the wiser about the events of the day.

"A fire aura," Varya said with admiration. "This will make for an amazing show of the aura gun's capabilities."
