Bab 236: Symbiotic Relationships

Aksai sat cross-legged under the imposing canopy of the demon tree, his eyes closed in deep meditation.

The tree had grown significantly over the years, its trunk now a massive, gnarled pillar of dark wood.

The serpentine wood vines that hung from its branches had thickened to the point where they resembled small tree trunks themselves, twisting and curling through the air like petrified serpents.

The thick foliage of dark gray leaves, interspersed with occasional blood-red ones, created a dense, ominous canopy above.

The ground beneath the tree was a tangled web of roots, some of which were intermittently visible above the soil, snaking their way across the island's surface.
