"Where is Thalia?" Her eyes scanned the room, but her friend's chaotic pace seemed missing. On the contrary, it was quiet inside the restaurant.

Klang! Blag! 

She guessed it was not that quiet as she heard the workers shouting with their tools banging and hammering on the other side of the room, in addition to that irritating noise that seemed to pierce her ears.

She guessed the only missing was her friend's chatter, as she did not notice her presence. She checked her watch. She believed she should be here by now.

"She called just a few minutes ago saying she won't be here today. She just left some instructions." The foreman turned to her to answer her question. "Didn't she call you?" 

She was as surprised as him with the news. She believed she had not received anything from her friend. But she grabbed her phone from her bag to check.
