Bab 16: Back home..

Glamour's POV,

***Previously ***

The next morning, I woke up before Maya and got into the shower for a quick hot bath. when I was done, I came back inside the room and put on one of my baggy sweatshirts before going downstairs to greet mom and dad.

However, when I dropped down the stairs, the first person I saw was Hamdi, who seems to be returning from a morning run, in his singlets and joggers.

"Good morning Dee," I greeted.

"Good morning Munchkin," he answered back and I glared at him because he knew just how much I hated been called that by him, but he just wouldn't listen.

"Where is mom," I asked him but he only shrugs saying he hadn't seen her this morning.

I was about to go back upstairs to go check if mom and dad were in their room but then Hamdi stopped me with a question that I wasn't sure I was going to be able to answer.

***chapter begins***

"Why did you get married without my knowledge," Hamdi said in a rough voice, and I could hear the feeling of being hurt from his voice.

I honestly didn't know how to answer his question, because I know I couldn't tell the truth about the situation, and lying to him would only break my heart, so I'm stuck between telling him a white lie or telling him something that I know is a complete lie.

I stood for a while weighing my options before deciding to tell him a white lie even though I know a lie is a lie, and there's no such thing as a white lie, but maybe it's termed as such because it wouldn't be completely far from what the actual truth is.

"Dad was against it, so he insisted we shouldn't disturb u because you were about to write your final projects," I said while I tried so hard to not grit my teeth at my lies.

"How could you not tell me about it even if everyone was against it, you know I would support your decision no matter what it was," Hamdi said with a hard look on his face.

I looked at him with dilated pupils as tears threaten to fall down my cheeks, little did he know that I was against the wedding myself which was why I couldn't even bring myself to tell him about it.

"I'm sorry," was all I could manage out through my quivering lips and the tears I tried to hold back fell down my cheeks as I couldn't hold them back in any longer.

"Hey, don't cry, I'm not mad at you," Hamdi said and came over to where I was to hug me before adding, "I'm just a little disappointed that munchkin would take the biggest decision in her life without involving me."

I was supposed to feel better after what he said, but I only felt worst because I realized the biggest choice I could have ever made in my life was taken away from leaving me with no choice whatsoever, but that realization only made me cry even harder...

"Hey, I said it's okay," Hamdi said again while he tried to rub soothing circles on my back. I didn't stop crying immediately, but I was able to stop after a few more minutes, but I continued to stay under my brothers embrace.

"How about I make you fluffy pancakes," Hamdi offers after pulling away to stare at my face, he knew I couldn't say no to food no matter how sad or angry I might be.

So I nodded with a small smile before we headed to the kitchen where we saw Mrs Butter the chef making breakfast and we both said good morning to her and she answered back with a simple nod.

Mrs Butter is a neat freak, so she never says a word whenever she's making a meal, believing her saliva could get into the food she's making.

The kitchen had two segment one on the left and the other at the side of the kitchen entrance. Each of the segments had its own stove and a table, although the one by the door has a larger stove and table and that's the one Mrs butter was making breakfast for mom and the rest of the workers.

I went to sit on one of the big stools beside the kitchen table on the left side of the kitchen, and watched how Hamdi made the pancakes.

I always loved the pancakes that Hamdi made me ever since I was a little girl, but right now as I watched how he made them, I felt a new wave of sadness threaten to surface because I didn't know if I'd ever get to eat them again after today.

Hamdi finished mixing the pancakes and started to fried them. He puts the first piece of hot steaming pancake in front of me before handing me a bottle of ketchup before going back to fry the rest.

I was about to start eating when a voice stopped me mid-bite.

"So you were actually going to eat without me?" Maya said walking into the kitchen, and I turned to see her pointing an acusing finger at me before adding "did you really think you could get away with that," she then greets Mrs Butter before coming to sit on the stool next to mine.

"When did you wake up," I asked her with a full mouth after taking my first bite of the savoury goodness.

"Good morning Dee," Maya said to Hamdi before turning to me and started to scold me about the fact that I'm breaking the whole rules of eating pancakes.

"You should try it someday," I told Maya after she finished her rants, and she made a disgusted face before going to grab a plate and set it on the table while waiting for Hamdi to put a pancake on it for her.

Maya was basically like a family member, so she was so used to everyone including Hamdi.

"Sorry Maya but there's only enough pancake for munchkin because I didn't include you in my calculations when I was mixing the batter," Hamdi told her with a glint in his eyes. Hamdi enjoys teasing Maya just as much as he enjoyed teasing me.

"I'm gonna cry," Maya said, pushing out her bottom lips while batting her eyes like a puppy.

"That doesn't work on me anymore," Hamdi declared without turning to look at her.

I watched the two of them while laughing at their childish behaviours and for a moment I forgot all about my current plight, but not for long though because the thought that I might never really be able to experience these sights again made another set of tears form in my eyelids.

'I wish he could just die over there and never return,' I thought in my head, even I know him dying would make me a widow at the young age of 22, but I couldn't care less about it. I'd rather be a widow than stay married to him anyway.

The voices of Maya and Hamdi were drowned out by my thoughts but I saw from the corner of my eyes when Hamdi set a pancake on Maya's plate.

After I and Maya finished our breakfast, we left the kitchen and I went back upstairs to check up on mom and dad. I know they are probably eating breakfast in their mini dining area at the left wing inside the main mansion where their room is situated.

Mom and dad were eating breakfast just like I expected, and I felt nostalgic at the sight of my parent's love for each other.

I could remember my dream as a child was to get married to someone who would love me just like my father loves my mom.

I grew up in a home that's filled with love even though my dad was mostly busy with business trips and all, he always puts his family first, because according to him, his money would mean nothing to him if he doesn't have his family with him.

Growing up to see the way my parents loved each other, made me set my standards so high when it came to falling in love with someone, but all that has gone down the drainage system after I went out that night and played a fucking stupid game.

I approach my parents and greeted them both.

"Good morning Dad, good morning mom," I said while placing a gentle kiss on both of their foreheads.

"Good morning honey," mom said while dad also said good morning.

"Are you feeling any much better," mom asked and I nodded before sitting down on a chair beside dad and directly opposite mom.

"Have you eaten breakfast yet," Dad asked and I answered with a short "yes."

I watched as they both silently finished their meals before turning their entire attention to me.

"Glamour, " Dad started to say and then paused, but before he would continue, I knew nothing good comes out if my Dad calls me by my name and the look on his face also confirmed my suspicions.

I thought about escaping or faking to feel dizzy, but I know my parents would only see through my lies.

It was still a shock to me that they couldn't catch on to my lies when I told them I'm getting married to someone they can't meet until the wedding day. Well, the meeting part wasn't a lie, but I had told them I was in love with that person and I wanted to marry him without having to introduce him to them.
