She hugged his neck, not daring to move. After a moment, seeing the man remain still, she gently disentangled herself, lifted her head to look up and saw the man with his eyes closed, his handsome face serene.

"Liam Yancey?" she murmured. Receiving no response, she carefully sat up, preparing to get out of bed, but the moment she moved, the man's eyes snapped open.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to wake you." His vigilance was startling; no rustle of motion escaped his senses.

Tara Summer knew that the higher a person's status, the more alert they always had to be, for they were under constant scrutiny, even threatened by countless nefarious motives!

Liam Yancey must be living in that kind of environment, thus his hyper vigilance, always on guard against people and movements around him!
