The enemy reinforcements were just pirates; they could easily be pushed back, but if the British sent reinforcements, the situation could be unpredictable. Therefore, the two fortifications blocking the way had to be dealt with.

If possible, Gao Yang still hoped to attack the two fortifications from a distance for safety. However, since Frey was temporarily unable to move, and the artillery and helicopters were ineffective under the extremely urgent circumstances, they had to take risks and attack up close.

Fighting was necessary, but how to fight needed careful consideration, especially the routes approaching the fortifications; they had to be well studied.

The remaining two fortifications were about thirty meters apart and had very good fields of fire, able to provide cover for each other, with almost no blind spots.
