The dragon was no longer overpowering after Gu Xijiu had joined the fight and it finally began to weaken. The Hongying Dragon continued its aggression even though it knew that it was about to lose. It was not planning to escape, and so it bled more and more over time.

Gu Xijiu had applied several types of poison on her blade to speed up the battle. If one of the poisons did not work, she applied another. She felt that the dragon was a good test subject for the different kinds of poisons she had concocted.

It was at this time that Lu Wu arrived.
