The young girl had never heard such a strange remark.

"Sorry, I was being rather inconsiderate and impolite. Please forgive me," she said, forcing a smile.

"Never mind. Where is Jiang Hongyan?" Xu Que asked, waving his hands frantically.

He was through joking with this girl. He figured that something must have happened to the Water Empress; otherwise, the young girl would have simply told him where she was.

"I am sorry to tell you that Lady Jiang Hongyan is already gone. She left just a few days ago," the young girl replied.

"What?!" Xu Que was stunned.

This can't be true. We decided we would meet here. I even came here earlier than we had discussed. She can't be gone already!
