After our discussion with the clan leader, and his lovely brother, we resumed our journey towards the location that would soon become our future academy. Yu Yuanzhen had offered us to stay for the night in the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, but Grandpa declined. He was too eager to show us the site he had meticulously chosen in Heaven Dou City.
Even when we suggested stopping by Liu Erlong's residence to collect her belongings, she assured us that everything she needed was safely stored in her Storage Tool. With no delays, we continued towards our destination.
The excitement in Grandpa was palpable as we neared Heaven Dou City. His enthusiasm was infectious, and even Dugu Xin and Liu Erlong, who had their fair share of battles and different experiences, couldn't help but share in his anticipation. As the city came into view, Grandpa practically burst with excitement, urging us to hurry.
When we finally arrived, Grandpa stopped abruptly in front of a grand gate. He turned to us with a triumphant grin and declared, "Surprise!"
The sight before us was nothing short of extraordinary. The entire property was vast, surrounded by beautifully designed gates that gave a hint of the splendor within. From the outside, we could see a majestic castle-like building standing at the center, flanked by numerous smaller but equally impressive facilities. The architecture was both elegant and imposing, a testament to Grandpa's impeccable taste and evident investment.
Dugu Xin let out an appreciative whistle. "You've outdone yourself, Father."
As I surveyed the grounds, a sense of déjà vu washed over me. This place feels familiar, I thought.
It wasn't until Liu Erlong spoke that everything clicked. "What a coincidence! I'd once thought about starting my own academy here. This exact place! It must be fate," she said, a rare smile gracing her features.
I barely contained my amusement as I realized the true nature of this location. This was supposed to be the future site of the Blue Tyrant Academy, and later, the location of the Shrek Academy, after they moved from Suotuo City. My smirk widened as a single thought crossed my mind: Too bad. Finders keepers, losers weepers! I felt no guilt as I claimed this space in my mind for my own.
Grandpa, oblivious to my internal thoughts, couldn't wait to give us a tour. "Come on! Let me show you everything," he said, leading us through the grand gates.
The grounds were even more impressive up close. Grandpa guided us through each area, narrating with the enthusiasm of a proud man. First, we visited the dining hall, a spacious facility designed to accommodate large groups of students and staff. Next was the meditation center, a serene space surrounded by lush greenery, perfect for cultivating.
We continued to a small arena intended for students to spar and test their skills. The arena's sturdy construction and thoughtful design made it clear that safety and functionality were top priorities. From there, we moved on to the dormitories, separate but equally comfortable accommodations for students and teachers. The dormitories were complemented by a library, which Grandpa described as a future treasure full of knowledge.
"And this," Grandpa said dramatically as he opened the doors to the main building, "is the heart of the academy. The administrative center, it is well-built for meetings and receiving visitors. It is also the dean's residence."
I stepped inside, taking in the spacious halls and meticulously crafted interiors. "It's amazing," I murmured, a grin spreading across my face.
By the end of the tour, I was genuinely impressed. Grandpa's vision and efforts had exceeded all expectations. As we stood in the main hall, I couldn't help but voice one concern. "The only thing missing now is the staff, a librarian, gardeners, cleaning staff, and some cooks."
Liu Erlong, who had been quietly admiring the facility, spoke up. "I'll handle it. Give me a week, and I'll have everything arranged."
"There is no need to get many people, the academy won't officially open until you and Uncle Xin become Titled Douluos, so just get the basic staff to keep this place going," I reminded her.
With that, she headed off to find her quarters in the teacher's residence and Dugu Xin followed her to do the same.
Left alone with Grandpa, I turned to him with a wide grin. "What do you think?" he asked, his voice brimming with anticipation.
I couldn't contain my smile. "It's perfect!"
Grandpa's laughter echoed through the grand hall, a sound of pure satisfaction. Together, we stood there, thinking about the possibilities this place offered. It was meant to become a sanctuary for learning, growth, and dreams fulfilled.
