Eric stepped down from the stage, and a group of young boys and girls waiting nearby all stood up.
A well-dressed young man, looking quite wealthy, extended a hand toward Eric. "Hi, you're Eric, right? I'm Arthur. Want to be friends?"
Behind him, a beautiful girl also approached. "Hey, I'm Tier. Can we get to know each other?"
There was even a more daring girl, dressed provocatively, who got closer to him, rubbing her chest against his arm. "Hey, can you teach me Magic? I can… fulfill your needs in other ways."
Eric was a little taken aback. He'd never been this popular with girls before.
It seemed that once you became strong, girls would start approaching you on their own.
The display of power he had shown earlier made many of them eager to be friends with him.
However, when he saw so many people trying to greet him, Eric quickly quickened his pace, hurrying to catch up with Orlando and exit the building.
Better leave fast, or I'll be overwhelmed! he thought to himself.
Just as Eric was about to step out the door, Lilith chased after him. Her voice came from behind. "Hey, Eric."
Eric paused for a moment, turning around with a frown. "Lilith? What do you want now?"
This girl, who had been nothing but rude to him in the past, had never spoken to him civilly, and this was the first time she'd called out to him.
Eric's expression hardened. He had no interest in whatever she was about to say.
"Uh…" However, Lilith took a step forward, her eyes flickering with hesitation. Once she was close enough, she looked up at him.
Her fiery red hair cascaded over her shoulders, releasing a subtle fragrance. Up close, her delicate face even had a faint blush, and what surprised Eric most was the expression in her eyes.
Gone was the usual arrogance and condescension, replaced by a softness—almost as if she were a gentle, modest woman.
"Eric, I know I haven't been kind to you in the past. I apologize... I'm really sorry." Lilith said, her head lowered, hands clasped tightly in front of her, her tone genuine.
Then, she looked at him earnestly. "Please, could you teach me how to learn C-level Magic? I don't want to stay stagnant anymore..."
Seeing the sincere expression on her face, Eric was taken aback.
Eric couldn't believe his eyes. Lilith, who had always been so cold and dismissive toward him, was now standing before him, looking so soft and vulnerable. The contrast was almost too much to handle.
Lilith did her best to appear delicate and endearing, but inside, she was calculating. After all, her beauty wasn't lacking. Otherwise, how could she have had Kevin wrapped around her finger?
Moreover, Eric had never been popular with girls before and had often been brushed off by her. Now, she was using her most powerful weapon, confident that it would be enough to win him over and make him teach her Magic.
However, after a brief cold glance, Eric only replied with a flat tone: "Sorry, I'm not interested."
With that, he turned and walked away, leaving Lilith standing there, her eyes wide in disbelief.
"He said he's not interested? He doesn't even care about me?" Lilith stood frozen, staring at Eric's receding figure, completely stunned.
It hit her suddenly: this so-called worthless Eric had become completely beyond her understanding.
...
"You're quite popular with the girls, huh?" Orlando said, half-joking, glancing back at Eric.
Eric remained expressionless. "I don't know." His voice was calm, devoid of any emotion.
Orlando's gaze sharpened. This boy was not just talented. His temperament was unshakable. If he continued to grow, he could become someone formidable.
"There are a few things you need to know as a Low-level Magic user." Orlando said, shifting to the serious topic.
He began explaining, "First, once you register as a Low-level Magic user, you're eligible to come to the guild every month and receive a stipend of 15,000 dollars."
Eric's eyes widened at this. Fifteen thousand dollars a month? That much!?
He had heard before that extraordinary beings were wealthy, but he hadn't realized just how good the benefits were.
And this was just for being a Low-level Magic user! The 15,000 dollars was just the base allowance, meaning he would essentially get paid for doing nothing each month.
Compared to ordinary people, it was like living in two entirely different worlds.
Eric was incredibly excited. With so much money, he could rely on this subsidy alone to solve the troubles he was facing.
Orlando didn't notice Eric's excited expression and continued walking, explaining further. "Also, being a member of the Magic User Guild comes with many other privileges in society, some even superior to those of ordinary people."
Eric nodded. He was already aware of that.
It is said that extraordinary beings can commit minor crimes without facing imprisonment, and even murder doesn't necessarily result in a death sentence or long-term confinement.
There was even a news story in the past about an extraordinary being who tortured and killed a young girl, and in the end, all he had to do was pay a few million dollars as compensation!
Of course, the premise was that the victim couldn't also be an extraordinary being. But still, it was clear that extraordinary beings were in a league of their own!
"Next, there's some internal knowledge about the Magic User Guild that you should be aware of. First, the guild has branches all over the world, in most cities, towns, and even some villages." Orlando continued.
"Within the guild, besides upgrading to Intermediate-level Magic User and needing to come here for assessments, there's another key area—the Mission Area." Orlando's tone suddenly became more serious.
Eric paid close attention, not wanting to miss a single word.
"The Mission Area contains various tasks assigned by either private individuals or the guild. Any extraordinary being can take on these tasks, and this is one of our main sources of income…" Orlando said with gravity.
"You can check it out yourself later. But for now, I'll go and get your temporary Low-level Magic User certificate." Orlando said as he walked toward a door.
Eric nodded seriously. The Mission Area was exactly what he was most interested in. He needed to make money, and he had planned to go there right after receiving his badge. But now, he paused for a moment, confused.
"Wait, temporary certificate? Shouldn't it be the badge?" he asked, slightly puzzled.
Orlando chuckled. "Silly boy, the badge needs to have your personal information embedded inside to prevent it from being stolen or falsely claimed. That takes about a week to process. You can come pick it up after that."
"And while you're waiting, you can only use the temporary certificate for now, but it serves the same purpose as the badge." Orlando explained.
Eric nodded, accepting the situation. There was no choice but to wait.
Soon, Orlando returned with the temporary certificate and handed it to Eric.
Eric took it and began examining it.
It was a small, rectangular card made of polished silver. There was a miniature wand etched into the center, surrounded by a swirling vortex of water.
The surface of the card was engraved with intricate symbols, almost like an ancient script. Under the light, it emitted a soft, old-fashioned glow.
"This is the certificate for a Low-level Magic User…" Eric's breath quickened slightly.
Holding it meant he was officially registered as a member of the Magic User Guild. It was also a symbol, proclaiming to everyone that he was a proud Magic User!
He carefully placed the certificate in his pocket and sighed with relief. Finally, he had become a Magic User!
"Thank you, Uncle Orlando." Eric said sincerely.
Orlando patted Eric on the shoulder with a smile. "No need to thank me. I have some assessment work to attend to, so I'll be going now." With that, he turned and left.
Eric watched Orlando leave, then turned his attention to the map of the guild posted on the wall in the hallway.
The map outlined the entire layout of the guild, and sure enough, a large area was labeled "Mission Hall."
Eric nodded to himself. "Looks like this is the Mission Area."
Following the map's directions, he soon arrived at the Mission Hall, which was much livelier than the assessment area.
The spacious hall was bustling with people—Magic Users dressed in simple robes, others in extravagant clothing, and even a few muscular Physical-Cultivation Practitioners clad in heavy armor.
Just as Orlando had mentioned, anyone who was an extraordinary being could come here to take on missions.
There were several counters similar to those in a bank, and Eric quickly approached one where a young woman in uniform sat. She politely requested, "Please show your badge."
