Bab 14: Chapter 14: Graduation Class Placement
The sunlight illuminated Konoha's streets as the new graduates of the Ninja Academy gathered in anticipation of their class placements. For some, this was an exciting day filled with dreams of teamwork and adventures. For others, like Kirito, it was a day of curiosity and calculated speculation.
The Announcement
In the classroom, the teacher began listing the assigned teams.
"Class Three: Kirito, Tenten, and Rock Lee."
The words hit Kirito like a thunderclap. For a moment, his carefully cultivated composure wavered. He quickly lowered his head, hiding a grin that threatened to betray his usual calm demeanor. One hand gripped the tiny leopard perched on his shoulder as if grounding himself.
"Stay cool, stay cool. This is fine. Completely normal." He muttered internally, fighting the giddy excitement bubbling up within.
As the teacher continued, Kirito's mind raced. He had expected to end up with unremarkable teammates and an equally obscure jonin leader. Instead, fate had placed him with two characters he recognized: Rock Lee, the embodiment of perseverance, and Tenten, the weapons expert. If that wasn't exciting enough, their team leader was unmistakable—Might Guy, the legendary taijutsu master known for his eccentric personality and unparalleled dedication to hard work.
A Familiar Voice
"Class Three! The team of youth and passion! Follow me!"
A booming voice filled the room, and every head turned to see the imposing figure of Might Guy. His green spandex, shiny bowl-cut hair, and blindingly white teeth caught the attention of everyone present.
Kirito glanced at his teammates. Lee's eyes sparkled with admiration as he practically leapt from his seat to join their leader. Tenten, on the other hand, looked more hesitant, caught between fascination and disbelief.
Kirito stood and adjusted his small companion, Little Leopard, who now rested comfortably on his shoulder. He followed Tenten and Lee at a casual pace, silently observing their new sensei as the group exited the classroom.
Meeting Might Guy
Guy led the group to a scenic overlook on the edge of Konoha, a spot with a clear view of the village bustling below. Turning dramatically, he struck a familiar pose, one hand giving a thumbs-up while the other sparkled in the sunlight.
"Welcome, my youthful students! I am Might Guy, your leader and guide on this journey of sweat, perseverance, and passion!"
Lee cheered, "Yes, Guy-sensei! I will follow you to the ends of the earth!"
Tenten sighed, a small smile tugging at her lips. "Well, at least he's enthusiastic."
Kirito tilted his head slightly, studying Guy. The man was undeniably eccentric, but there was no denying the raw power he possessed. If Guy were to be his sensei, then the road ahead would be rigorous but rewarding.
A Test of Youth
"Before we officially become a team, we must first undergo the Test of Youth!" Guy declared.
Tenten raised an eyebrow. "Test of Youth?"
"Indeed!" Guy replied with fervor. "It is not enough to simply graduate from the academy. True strength and unity are forged through effort and trust! So today, we will prove our dedication to one another through a simple yet demanding challenge!"
Kirito leaned forward slightly, intrigued despite himself. "What kind of challenge?"
Guy's teeth gleamed as he replied, "A race! We will run around Konoha ten times! The last one to finish… will have to endure 500 push-ups!"
Lee pumped his fist in the air. "Yes, Guy-sensei! A test of endurance and youth is exactly what I need!"
Tenten groaned. "Is this guy serious?"
Kirito gave a small smile, adjusting his stance. "Guess we better start stretching."
The Beginning of a New Team
As the team prepared for their first challenge together, Kirito couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation. His years at the academy had been solitary, with few true connections. But now, surrounded by his energetic teammates and led by an eccentric yet powerful sensei, he felt that perhaps the next chapter of his life would be something to look forward to.
"Let's see where this road takes us."
The journey of Class Three had just begun.
