Today, Eda had brought her charges and guests to the shoreline of her side of the forest, where she would show them an amazing sight. Who were those guests, you may ask?
After learning what had happened, due to Anne talking in her sleep, the Plantars were adamant on joining Anne the next time she went to the Boiling Isles. The Boonchuy parents had even prepared some lunches for everyone
The Thai girl didn't mind at all and Luz was elated to hang out with the Froggy family; minus the spats King and Polly got into.
"Don't worry; they're making up for lost time." Olivier assured her as Polly and King began a slap fight, which was becoming louder and louder. "Don't make me reach back there!"
"SHE/HE STARTED IT!" the two youngest roared as they kept slapping each other.
"I don't care who started it, I'll finish it!" Olivier snapped.
Finally the party reached the shore, were a giant slug suddenly washed ashore, let out a roar…and then fell dead on the beach.
"Yes, it doesn't get much more inspiring than the trash slug." Eda smirked. "It makes a home, a life from what others have thrown by the wayside. Until, blam, it gets blasted by a wave one day and croaks from all the salt. And then we get to sell the stuff it ate."
The Owl lady then pulled out a rubber chicken from the slug and a pick-axe from her hair.
"Where do you think all my stuff came from?" Eda asked.
"Honestly, I thought you raided trash bins and charities on earth." Luz admitted.
"I did initially but come on! Do I really strike you as that shady and cruel?" Eda feigned being hurt.
"Mama, I believe your exact words were, and I quote, 'as long as we eat and the morons are paying for it, all's fair.'" Olivier said with a smile.
"And you used to hate me for saying that." Eda remarked.
"Maybe. But that was before I met my amazing girlfriend and realized how way, way, WAAAAAAY off you and those rags they call magazines were." Olivier returned, stifling laughs as he recalled some of his mother's 'facts' and the poor saps at that 'Human World' Magazine who took her words as gospel and otherwise spun crazy tales.
"Aw, Ollie…" Anne cooed, spying Luz also cooing at them.
"Oh um…i-is it okay I like you two being cute?" Luz asked, suddenly fearing her geeky side getting her in trouble.
"Of course!" The assembled all said, Maddie the loudest. To hear such words from the blue frog girl made everyone look at her in surprise.
"…What? I can't want my mentor and big brother to be happy with the girl who urged him out of his shell?" She asked. "I know I'm a spell-learning fanatic, but I do need other things."
Olivier chuckled and messed with Maddie's hair.
"…Guessing you've had shipping troubles?" Anne asked Luz, who nodded. "No worries dude. Marcy went through…"
And like that, she and Ollie's moods soured ever so briefly before Olivier realized what Anne had guessed.
"…Luz, what're their names?" Olivier asked, whipping out a notepad and pencil.
"Eh? What names?"
"The people who gave you trouble just because you liked certain couplings."
"Um…W-why you ask?" Luz asked.
"Oh no worries! No worries!" The half-witch assured his friend. "I just want to have words with them."
"And by 'words,' he means curse them to heck to and back until they either learn the error of their ways or are in a padded cell." Maggie smirked.
"He's already got a few names already." Anne assured Luz; inwardly imaging the rampant chaos Olivier planned to unleash on Maggie. Eda seemed to guess this was on her future daughter-in-law's mind and then pulled her son into give him a noogie.
"Baby's first rampage! Going to be one for the books!" The owl lady smirked before Olivier freed himself. "Well, time's a wasting and there's snails to be raking!:"
And with that, mother and son began to scour the slug's folds for anything interesting.
"Well? Hop on in, frogs and kids! Plenty to go around!" Eda urged.
The Plantars immediately followed suit, pulling out all the garbage they could get their hands on.
"Ah, this brings back memories!" Hop-Pop beamed
"Good old manual labor!" Sprig beamed.
"And now that I have legs? I can take part!" Polly followed.
Maddie was already giggling in delight, seeing several Curse ingredients and daydreaming about how awesome they'd be here in the Boling Isles.
Luz and Anne stayed where they were, even as Olivier offered them a hand to come in.
"…Please don't make me." Luz begged. "I don't care what you say; there is literally NOTHING worth going through the body of a dead animal. Especially a slug. And yes, that is probably being raised by a veterinarian coming into play and before you bring my taxidermy projects, I remind you that no slime was involved!"
"It'll be the last time." Olivier assured his friend before he spied something. "Hey mom! Earrings for you!"
Eda took two coat hangers and put them on her ears.
"…nah, too heavy and bulky." Eda mused. "But I'm sure we can still sell them to some chump!"
Luz grimaced at the smell and sight, her disgust broken and turning to shock when she saw her fellow human accepting Olivier's outstretched hand and nuzzling his nose before she started looking around.
"Anne?!" Luz gasped in shock. "Girl, why are you so…?"
The Thai girl turned to her friend and smiled a forced smile…before she began to chuckle madly.
"Oh, Luz." Anne said, patting her fellow human on the shoulder. "Luz, Luz, Luz….Amphibia was GROSS. Incarnate. I once crawled through sewers out of a toliet and milked a beetle."
"So did we!" Sprig beamed, reminiscing.
"Wait, what?" Olivier asked.
"Happened before you came." Maddie assured him, getting him to nod in understanding.
"Long story." Hop-Pop said
"They make sense in context." Polly said.
"While that is making me somewhat thankful for the Isles?" Luz said. "That is not changing my stance. Can't we just…I don't know, read some books or scrolls?"
Eda gagged.
"Sounds like Hexside."
"Eda, I know…certain people have been hurt by magic school." Luz said, trying to find some sort of diplomatic middle ground as the searchers began to slow down. "But…maybe it could work for me? You know, been 100% human and all?"
"Luz, I understand were you're coming from." Olivier said softly. "But I speak from experience; you will learn FAR more like this than you would in a magical school. And I'm not just biased! I had a mentor in Amphibia that helped me go from zero to Coven Head level!"
"Didn't Grunge turn out to be a megalomaniacal dark wizard?" Sprig reminded the half-witch, getting a light bop on the head by Maddie and Hop-Pop.
"Well, yeah….At least he didn't hide his ambition from me or have plans for multiverse domination." Olivier recounted, that being the best thing he could think of for Grunge.
In the Mirror Relam
"Hm. I feel honored." Grunge smirked as he floated aimlessly, singing to himself in boredom. "Sixty-four bottles of Beetle grog on the wall, sixty-four bottles of grog….When in Olm is Belos going to get off his cursed keister and get me out of here?"
Back to the Boliling Isles!
"Cythina Coven lied. dude." Anne said bluntly, feeling some shame in dissing Marcy's favorite book series but this was a lesson Luz would come to thank her for.
"Exactly! Hexside goes on and on about the 'Proper' way to do and learn magic, but magic isn't proper!" Eda reminded the kids. "It's wild and unpredictable! Besides, look at me and Ollie! I didn't graduate and he quit after…the incident…"
All cringed at that.
"Who wouldn't want to be where we are now?" Eda beamed, although the image of her surrounded by garbage sadly did not convey the amount of awe she hoped it might.
Maddie at least was happy; already having found some ingredients for potions and curses. Maybe it was the baker in her, but she could honestly see herself doing this every day if need be. Kind of a shame that in a few days, Eda would have a legitimate flow of Snails coming in….Oh well! Best enjoy it while she can!
Eda, seeing that Luz was clearly uncomfortable with this, spied something
"Here's a lesson for you." The Owl lady explained as she handed something she'd spied to the Dominacan girl. "A good witch is resourceful."
"…Magical slime-ball." Luz forced a grin to hide her disappointment. "Neat."
"Actually…" Olivier and Maddie both started, only to see Eda and Hop-Pop shush them, wordlessly telling them to let her learn this lesson on her own.
"I think I'll head back to the house and read some of your books." Luz said, turning to leave; a sight that filled Anne with sadness; she recalled how Olivier had been shunned by the Wartwood folks when he first arrived and while she knew that the Clawthornes and Plantars were NOT doing this out of fear or malice (she'd seen first hand that Olivier and Maddie's way of magic was something you taught yourself), she felt bad.
She then remembered that for once, she was NOT the only human here. And, maybe this was selfish of her, but Luz could explain all of Marcy's fandoms in a way that kept Anne's interest and left her wanting more.
"….Y-yeah. Ollie?" The Thai girl said, getting her boyfriend's attention. "Sorry, I think I need a Luz day. Besides, this is the last time you and Eda will have to do this; don't let us get you down."
"Hey, you could never do that." Olivier noted with a sweet smile. "But if that's what you want? Go right ahead."
"More for us then!" Eda beamed as she, Hop-Pop and Polly continuing digging with finesse.
"But please, take Fleetwing with you. Just in case." Olivier asked, nodding to his Palisman, who landed on Luz's shoulder and nuzzled her, making the girl giggle and scratch his chin, perking her up.
"You sure you'll be okay without him?" Anne asked.
"Anne, sweetie." Eda smirked. "I'm the most powerful witch on the Isles and even without Fleet, Ollie could fight Hettie to a standstill. We'll be good. Sides, I got Owlbert with me."
"And I've got a knife!" Polly beamed as she drew a dagger.
"Polly!" Hop-Pop cried out in horror.
"Can…Um…I?" Sprig started, not wanting to intrude on 'human only time' but also wanting to have some fun with his best friend.
"Go on, boy." Hop-Pop said. "I know you want to explore."
The elderly frog was also hoping that maybe, this could give his grandson and Maddie time together; anything to avoid the back and fourth his son had gone through!
"Thanks, Hop-Pop!" the frog boy beamed as he hugged his grandfather and leapt onto Anne's head. "Owl house, ho!"
After a chuckle,
Anne gave Olivier a kiss on the cheek, told him she loved him and, after the adorable scene of Luz giving King a belly rub, the trio started to head back to the Owl House. The half-witch boy sighed in adoration as he watched Annewalk away and start up a talk with Luz.
"Oooooh!" King cooed snarkily before he began to sing. "Olivier and Anne, sitting in a tree! K-I-S-S-I-N-G!"
Olivier, still awestruck by Anne and smiling dorkily, bonked his brother on the head.
"OW!" The little monster screamed. "HEY, THAT HURT!"
"Then stop being a brat." Olivier said, then spying Maddie also leap out of the slug, her arms full of what she'd grabbed.
"Hey Luz?" Maddie called out, getting the girls and Sprig to turn. "I know it might not be much, but I got enough stuff to try out a few potions and curses, if you'd…"
She was cut off by a hug from Luz, making her drop a few ingredients that Sprig and Anne were quick to catch with some help from Fangora.
"YES!" Luz beamed, hugging the frog girl. "Thank you, Maddie!"
Maddie blushed in embassment, but did smile a bit; she'd liked having Marcy as an apprentice, so these potion brewings with Luz were a good way to heal and do-over.
OWLPHIBIA
The quartet did not make it to the Owl house; while Maddie had been going over a few of the possible curses/potions, they'd heard a familiar voice:
"You can do it. You can do it." Willow Bark told herself, pacing back and fourth in front of what looked like a wheelbarrow with a cauldron on top. "Even if you get a bad grade, its not a reflection of you as a witch. And dad and papa are right; there are better opportunities on this track. Now, get to school!"
And the glasses wearing witch was on her way!...for a few seconds, because when she spied a wilted flower her wheelbarrow had run over.
"Oh no!" Willow gasped in worry. "Don't worry, little friend; I'll fix you up."
She then spun a magical circle, and instantly the flower looked even better than ever; double its former size, brighlty colored and eye-catching to anyone.
Anne and Luz beamed at this; Olivier had told them how skilled Willow was with Plants and how kind she was, and even with the story night, it was nice to see had never lost those traits.
"So cool!" Sprig beamed. "….Best not let Hop-Pop meet though, he'll want to adopt her."
The others nodded in agreement at that; altough Anne smiled at the idea of Willow and her being grand-cousins…wait, was that the proper term?...Meh, she'd look it up later.
Then she rode on in: Reading a book while riding a self-driving wheel barrow with a caldron inside….that ran over the flower Willow had just saved.
"Oh, Willow!" The girl smirked. "You're so unoticable, I almost ran you over."
"…Hi Amity." Willow managed.
All the air in the hidden four's form left them.
This was her.
HER.
Amity 'heartbreaking, getting Olivier scarred and jaded' Blight.
'…I hate her.' Anne said. 'I. Freaking. Hate. Her. I already hated her just from what Ollie told us, but now that she's right here?! Picking on Low?! Strutting around like some magical peacock to be worshipped and adored just cause her family is the Boiling Isles equivalent of the Rockafellers? Without offering any constructive criticism?! .…Olms and Titan…I think I hate her more than Andrias and he let Marcy get possessed by…whatever the heck that thing is!'
Just as her boyfriend had warned her; Amity was proud, rude and hid it all under a sweet demeanor. If she was at least honest with the fact she was a horrible person, Anne could see herself maybe tolerating her….Strong emphasis on maybe.
Glancing over, the Thai girl then saw her fellow human also fixated on the Blight, but instead hatred, she seemed…enraptured?
Big bright eyes, focusing solely on the Blight brat, tuning out almost everything else?...Sure looked like enrapturement.
Now Anne was torn. On one hand, this was the same witch who had broken Olivier's heart and then literally thrown him off a cliff. On the other? She and Luz could make such a cute…!
'No!' she snapped, slapping her cheeks to snap out of that daydream. 'No! No shipping Ollie's heartbreaker with Luz! Bad Anne! BAD!'
Maddie meanwhile, was FUMING at the sight of Amity. She did not hate easily, despite or perhaps due to her penchant for curses, but the Blight Heiress? The only person above her on the 'Maddie Flour's Cursing them in the worst ways is worth damnation list' (trademark pending) was Andrias….and possibly whatever possessed Marcy, but until Maddie knew whatever the Olm/Titan it even was, she put them on the 'maybe' pile.
But rest assured!
There were no words in any of the languages known to frog, toad, newt, human or witch/demon, both real and fictitious, that came close to adequately describing the sheer depths of hatred Maddie had for the green haired witch. At this moment? She despised Amity and the other Blights (Emira my get a pass because she at least stopped Olivier's bleeding that night) so much that the association of a face to a name filled the frog girl with blinding rage she'd not felt since the night her mother gave her life to save her and triplets. If the opportunity presented itself, Maddie vowed she would gut the heiress with an honest to Olm smile on her face and then repaint the Blight mansion with said heiress' very blood before using it as a bathroom, setting it aflame and posting the whole thing on Youtube.
And that still would do enough to quell her rage.
The blue frog girl reached for a curse, her usual smile truly becoming a psychotic one, then used her free hand to stop and then let out a deep breath, calming herself.
'Someday. But not today.'
The main reason she stopped was because she knew Amity was Olivier's to deal with (if not him, Anne) and while she was certain he'd be proud of her doing his ex-beloved any disservice, he'd also be disappointed she did so without him and or recording it. Besides, she'd left the WORST Curses at the Owl house.
However, there was one person NOT bound by such concerns or worries.
Amity's book was suddenly shot out of her hand and she tripped off trying to catch it. She looked around to find the culprit, but all she saw was Willow hurriedly trying to make her Abomination work. Knowing that half-a-witch couldn't be responsible, Amity dusted herself off and continued on her way.
From their hiding spot, Anne, Luz and Maddie spied Sprig whistling suspiciously and looked around, his slingshot sticking out of his pocket. He did not fool anyone
"Good boy." Maddie beamed, patting him on the head before Anne gave him a noogie.
It couldn't have been more than a minute, but that was all that was needed. Because amidst the praising of Sprig, Willow's eyes suddenly took on a jade hue and every flower, tree and root in the area suddenly became animated, growing at incredible rates and flaying around. The frog children easily leapt away, but the humans were a second too slow.
"LUZ!" Anne called out as her fellow human was snagged by roots. She instantly went blue and met the vines head on, chopping at them with her hands. Fleetwing watched her back and then dove towards the roots that held Luz.
The instant this happened, the plants ceased in all their movements, as if they realized there was greater power in their vicinity; a power that could and WOULD destroy them if it so chose. And with that,….
"No, no, no, no!" Willow, snapped from her trance, gasped in worry as she spied Luz ensnared in thorny roots and Anne….glowing?
Anne deactivated her power and became dizzy, grateful for Sprig and Maddie catching her.
"Luz! Anne! I'm so sorry!" Willow begged, reaching to help the injured human.
"No worries!" Luz waved off the apology as the others came over. "The thorns only went through a few lairs of skin."
"….Oh yeah. That's nothing, dude." Anne mused after she spied Luz's ankle. Now, any other person may have been worried about such a reaction, but after being nearly eaten, having your arm broken, poisoned…. well, it puts help put things into perspective. Plus, if Luz was okay, that was all that mattered.
All the same, Sprig handed Luz a hanky to cover the cuts up.
"What're you guys doing here?" Willow asked. "I thought you were staying with Ollie and Eda."
"It's Trash slug day." Anne said.
"Ah." Willow smirked. "I joined them on a few of those;….not the best experiences."
She shuddered for a second, then giggled.
"But…certainly better than today. Sorry guys; I'd better get to school before I'm late."
That was when Luz got an idea.
"Say…what if I was your Abomination?"
Willow looked on in confusion.
"What? It's a walking pile of purple goop." Luz said as she applied some of the Abomination to her form. "I can walk and talk and dance…You'd get a great mark!"
"And it would put Amity in her place." Maddie chuckled dementedly, soon joined by Anne.
"…Yes." Anne said. "Yes! Yes! Low, let us! Yes!"
Normally Willow would be averse to such an idea. But….well, call her petty, but…
"Okay, Lets give it a try! Just…stay out of sight until I say 'Abomination, rise.'"
And with that, she, Anne and Luz high fived…only to get their hands covered in Abomination slime.
"I got it!" The two frog children said, using their tongues to pull off the slime and then eat it. "Mmm! Tastes like a berry!"
OWLPHIBA
A few minutes later, Hexside came within view. Anne had to admit; it looked pretty cool. She could've done without the locker beasts though….
"I want one!" Maddie begged, already envisioning using in Wartwood to scare away Toads and the other kids.
Just then, a boy who looked a little young to be in Hexside walked over to Willow, reading a magazine.
"Willow, you would not believe humans!"
Willow tensed
"Humans?! I…Don't…know…any…" She mumbled, then saw the boy was too enthralled in his magazine to see Anne.
"Did you know that humans wire their kids' teeth?! Why?! Maybe….! To make them magnetic!" The boy continued.
"Actually, it's for storing treats!" Luz said from within the cauldron.
"No, no!" Anne said on reflex. "Olm and Titan if only. They're to fix up teeeeee….Aaaand I just blew our cover."
While he said nothing, Sprig was happy that for once, he was not the cause of the incoming trouble.
"Augustus, can you be cool?" Willow asked sweetly. "Cause this is kind of big."
"I can be spool! I mean, cool!" The boy promised, as Luz then crawled out of the cauldron and stood beside Anne in a dramatic pose.
"HJumans in Hexside, baby!" Anne beamed, shooting the boy finger guns
"Where are your gills?!" Gus asked
And suddenly, Anne was reminded of Olivier's comments on 'those rags they call magazines.'
"Gus here is head of the human apprtiation society." Willow explained. "He knows more about humans than anyone."
"…We'll fact check and confirm later." Anne said, kneeling and offering a hand for Gus to shake. The boy did so, a blush on his face.
"Careful, little buddy." A familiar voice said as another student go to their locker. "She's taken."
Anne and Willow looked to see a familiar mop of black messy hair on the head of a boy with dragon-rimmed glasses.
"Hey, Benny-boy!" Anne waved
"Wait…Um…d-does Ollie know you're here?" Ben asked worriedly, looking around. His worry grew when the others shook their heads. "…Oooooh, this could go so badly….Wait, where's Luz?"
"Hola!" Luz said from within Willow's cauldron.
"…..Why?" Ben asked.
"Amity was mean to Willow, so Luz'll be her Abomination for the day." Sprig explained. "That and we all wanted to see this place for ourselves."
Ben mused on that, then gave a thumbs up.
"Pardon me, kids." Another voice, this one older and carrying authority but in a sweet tone. It belonged to a tall witch with an aged appearance and what looked like a devil mask on top of his head. "Are you new here?"
Anne, Sprig and Maddie began to sweat; having not of being caught so soon. Luckily, someone else was there to help them.
"Ah! Principal Bump." Ben smiled. "I was looking for you; These are Maddie Flour, Sprig Plantar and Anne Boonchuy of the Sunken Isles exchange program...Where are the trumpets?"
"Beg pardon...?" Bump asked.
"We PROMISED Prince Andrias there would be trumpets to announce foreign exchange students...SKARA!" Ben reminded the older demon and passing Bard students before turning to the trio with a comically apologetic face. "Sorry, about this kids and Anne. Hit me until you're happy."
Maddie manifested Fangora in staff form and raised her above her head….
"Maddie!" Anne said, taking the staff away. "Not Ben! Save that for 'she-who-will-not-be named!'"
"Fair."
Bump chuckled.
"Well, children., Welcome to Hexside. I hope you…enjoy…Oh Titan, who can I get to give you the tour?"
"Well, I have a free period, I could do it." Ben suggested.
"Benjamin, you are a life saver!" Bump said, giving the party hall and attendance passes. "When you see a coven you'd like to focus your studies on, just go on in. If not today, then feel free to enjoy the school library."
OWLPHIBIA
In the first room, the gang spied Nagare make a Plant grow to the size of an adult witch and spit out several seeds, which, with a simple magic circle, blossomed.
"Well done, Nagare. B." The teacher smiled, making the calmer twin of the Clawthrone coven smile.
The next room, focusing on the Healing Coven, was where the gang saw Karma creating some soothing snow and then mesh a cut closed. His teacher applauded his effots and marked him and a witch girl named Bo as the star students of the day.
"Wait, I thought Karma is like, the top Illusionist after that Gus kid." Anne noted.
"That's what I heard." Sprig added.
"Illusions are Karma's passion. Healing is his career choice." Ben explained as he motioned the group along. "Wild as he is, his heart is always for others."
This made Anne and Luz coo, as did the sight of Bo nuzzling up to Karma, who smiled sheepishly.
The environment in the next room was, sadly, not as warm. Even before peaking inside, they could hear Edgar arguing with the teacher.
"The assignment was to build a simple tower foundation. You've made some ridicous winged system." The teacher, a witch who looked like he was made of bricks, droned on.
"For those without Palisman and for when the Day of Unity happens!" Edgar retorted.
"That is not what the Construction Coven wants you to learn."
"The foundations are good and all, but our society prospered by taking changes and innovating!" Edgar snapped back,
"My point stands. F-."
"A Da Vinci Glider and he gets a F?!" Luz gasped.
"….Olivier and Eda really undersold this place." Anne mused.
"…Whose Da Vinci?" Ben asked
"He sounds important." Sprig noted.
"Only like, the smartest and most talented human ever!" Luz explained. "He painted some of the greatest art pieces, designed and built stuff like Edgar there, created Vegetarimsim and vegan good, paleontolgy…
"…And some people even think he was a member of a secret society of two." Anne said. "…Either that or an alien."
"Not a fan of sci-fi, but I can see that." Luz noted.
Suddenly, Edgar zoomed outside, getting right up in the girls' faces.
"You mean someone stole my idea?!"
"Hi Edgar." Ben grumbled; obviously used to this.
"Well...Not sure if it counts as stealing if it happens in another realm..." Anne started.
"WHERE IS OLLIE?!" Edgar snapped, glancing around. "I NEED TO GO TO THE HUMAN RELAM, FIND THIS DA VINCI AND KICK HIS...!"
"Ed, the guy's been dead for like..." Luz responded, briefly pausing to count. "500 years."
"...THEN I'LL DIG UP HIS GRAVE, GET BEN TO RESSURECT HIM AND KICK HIS BUTT!" Edgar roared.
"Hey, leave me out of this!" Ben demanded. "I got no beef with this guy! Sides, I'm on tour duty."
Back in the construction room, the teacher screamed as Edgar's glider suddenly took off and out a window.
"….Free period!" The other students cheered, starting to doodle their own true projects while Edgar sighed.
"…I better go save the teacher…again." The genius then spun a magic circle and summoned another glider, which he leapt onto rode outside.
"CLOSE THOSE BLASTED DOORS!" Bump suddenly hollered over the intercom, a startled Ben and Anne doing just that. "It's like you're TRYING to give the detention track students proof we need to change things!"
"…The what track students?" Anne asked.
"Students who mix covens, which is a big no-no." Ben explained. "….Moving on!"
The group came to the Illusion room, where they spotted the largest of the Clawthorne Coven and Gus shifting the room and each other's clothes, their teacher applauding happily.
"A lot like Karma, Fraost prefers Oracle magic, but it's a VERY cutthroat Coven…" Ben started, only to be cut off.
"They got the mind magic, got it." Anne said.
"…And the big guy, unless he's riled up enough, just doesn't have it in him to be that ruthless." Ben explained as they came to the third to last room, where Willow and Luz paid the group a farewell, as they entered the Abomination Classroom. Anne and Maddie to give an oblivious Amity an eye eye before Ben brought them to the second to last classroom.
. "And this is where I must let you go. Beastkeeping is…Why're the frog kids scared?"
Indeed, Sprig and Maddie seemed to tense, holding onto Anne.
"They were hunted by the Coven head, remember?" Anne recalled.
"Oooooh." Ben grimaced. "Right….Forgot about that….Sorry…"
"Wait, aren't you a…?" Maddie started.
"A necromancer?" Ben answered. "yeah. And apparently, Beast-Keeping is the closest 'proper' magic to that, so…."
"Well, you know what? I think I'll give this one a try!" Sprig said, surprising the group. "I'm sure the Plantar Family dance will come in handy."
"…What dance?" Ben and Luz asked.
"You'll know it when you see it." Anne smirked, giving Sprig a light shoulder punch. "Knock em dead, buddy."
"See ya at lunch and try not to die!" Maddie waved as she and Anne spied the library and decided to do some homework in the meantime.
"Wait…no human world wifi!" She realized, then spying a book on the history of the Isles and another called 'Covens for Dunderheads.' Grabbing those and taking out her notebook, Anne decided to jot down what notes she could.
"Ah well. If nothing else, it'll be nice to know a bit about this place's history." Maddie noted.
"Surprised you didn't head into the Potions classroom." Anne noted.
"If I saw 'She-who-will-not-be-named?'" Maddie said in total seriousness and a smile on her face. "I'd be wanted for murder within the hour."
"Fair enough."

Willow made her way to her class, were she took a seat beside Apollo in Abomination class. And suffice to say, Willow was NOT alone in struggling with this Coven; the teacher even promising double homework for the next disappointment.
"I'm ready, sir!" Amity offered, getting a chuckle.
"Thank you Amity, but I always save the best for last. Hmmmm….Apollo!"
The diminutive boy leapt on his desk and called out:
"RISE!"
And from his pot shot out a wave of slime that took the form of a humanoid like creature, which suddenly tensed its form, becoming sharp as blades. It then softened again and let its eyes journeyed all over its body.
"Excellent work, Apollo!" The teacher clapped. "B and no extra homework for anyone!"
With that, the students applauded and praised the Titan.
"…I'll take it." The genius smiled, then whispered under his breath. "Moronic bribe accepting pile of puke."
"Pardon?"
"Pardon me sir, bit of a cold." The short boy lied.
This seemed to appease the teacher, who turned his attention to his least favorite student.
"Abomination, Rise." Willow asked sweetly and Luz popped out of the cauldron, dancing, jiving and even speaking:
"I may be an Abomination, but you're my 'A-mom-ination!'"
The teacher laughed heartedly at this, finding the pun funny. Then he made Willow's semester by giving her an A.
Sadly….this did not sit well with Amity, who after class was dimssed, confronted Willow.
"The last time I saw your Abomination, it was a talking puddle! What did you do?!"
"I-I took your advice?" Willow managed.
Running late for class, Amity simply glared at Willow and promised to find out what was going in, leaving Willow cowering, but Luz just blew a raspberry.

Back in the woods, the Clawthornes, Hop-Pop and Polly were heading back to the Owl House, full satchels of junk over the shoulders.
"What a great final haul!" Eda beamed.
"Feels good to contribute." Hop-Pop smiled.
"Not going to lie; I'll miss this." Olivier admitted, then spying King pulling a baby Trash Slug along with him. "You doing okay over there, King?"
"Just a little coaxing!" King promised as he tried to get his new proclaimed 'student' to obey him…with little success.
"Luz? Anne? Maddie? Sprig?" Eda called out. "We're….back?"
No response.
"Hooty, did the girls leave?" Eda asked.
"With you guys, yup!" Hooty beamed.
"…So, where are they now?" Hop-Pop asked.
"Well, I have an idea…." Hooty smirked. "But you won't like iiiiit….Hoot! Hoot! Hoot!"
"…are you finally having a stro,…?" Olivier started
"LOOK AT THE WEATHER VAINE!" Hooty snapped.
The frogs and witches did.
"…No." Olivier begged before he tossed Hop-Pop his sack and ran.
"Where's he off?" Polly asked.
"Well, the only thing in that direction is…Oh no!" Eda realized as she raced after her son.
"No, no, no, no, no, no!" Mother and son begged as they raced through the forest, coming across a familiar building that held many unhappy memories to them.
"No! Blind obedience!" Eda whimpered as she watched toddlers recite their runes through one of the windows.
"No! Pointless busy work!" Olivier gasped, before doubling back to check what was going on in the class: Memorizing the Hexicmal system. "REPEATIVE pointless busy work!"
And then Eda and Olivier came across a sight that horrified them to the core: Luz helping Willow take notes down with a happy grin on her face as she drank in the drivel Hexside taught its' students.
"NOOOOOO!" the Clawthorne mother and son wailed. "WHY?! SCHOOL?!"
BOILING AMPHIBIA
Anne enjoyed a delightful lunch of curried chicken and veggies on noodles, that she shared with Sprig and explained to many onlookers. The Clawthorne Coven had joined her, Willow, Maddie and Sprig for lunch, with Karma cackling at Edgar saving his teacher and then at Ben regailing of how Sprig's dance had not only tamed the creatures flawlessly, but even the teacher and some students!
"Say, do humans eat PB ?" Gus asked Luz.
"Oh my gosh, please let me have some!" the girl in the cauldron begged. "It's been so long since I had human world food."
Gus split his sandwich in half, Luz eagerly gobbling up the half he gave her as she slunk back inside the cauldron.
Willow suddenly became antsy, looking around in concern and worry.
"….Low?" Anne asked.
"I hope Amity didn't see that."
Sadly, fate would not be on Willow's side, for as the human world saying goes: Speak of the she-devil and said she-devil shall jump upon your table.
"Dude!" Anne called out, but she went ignored.
"I SAW THAT!" Amity screamed, first to Willow and then at Luz, not at all caring how she looked. "Abominations DON'T EAT! I know you're in there! You can't hide from me!"
She reached inside and grabbed Luz, who remain slack and motionless.
"Who are you?! WHAT are you?! I! WANT! ANSWERS!"
"AMITY BLIGHT!"
The girl turned to see her teacher, a stern look of disappointment on his face.
"I expected a twinge of jealousy, but this? This is…This is just sad."
"No!" Amity begged. "But…! I mean…! Look at it!"
Luz just stayed limp and slack-jawed.
"Report to Prinicpal Bump's office." The teacher ordered. "Now!"
Just like that? This was a good day for Anne. Did she feel some sadness for Amity getting in trouble with a teacher? Maybe a teeny tiny bit…but overwhelmed by the measure of justice for the boy she loved.
OWLPHIBIA
And it was all downhill from there.
"…I left my sword at the Owl House." Anne grimaced in realization as she, Sprig, Luz, Maddie and Willow ran. "WHY DID I LEAVE MY SWORD AT THE OWL HOUSE?!"
Right after lunch, Bump had requested to see Luz, who he assumed was an Abomination. And by see, we mean 'dissect'. Anne…may have panicked and definitely had made a mad dash for the exit with her friends, only for Bump to lock the school down…And Amity, thoroughly enraged, to block their path.
Now, as it turned out, the slimeball on Luz? Was actually a seed that Willow used to make a beanstalk of sorts for them to escape…but Amity was not letting them have it; her Abominations racing after the four….
The school then began to shake violently. In every classroom, students and staff felt free and overwhelming power. And amidst her anger, Amity saw Anne, Maddie and Sprig smiling. A smile that said:
'You are so screwed now.'
Her Abominations fell off the beanstalk, but where then CRUSHED by what looked to the Blight heiress like…rock abominations?
And then, she finally felt it: And then she realized…it…felt familiar…
Willow's eyes widened suddenly, her focus on something.
"…I know you told us about it but by Titan I still was not expecting that!"
Amity turned and froze at what she saw:
A boy with red hair, floating in the sky and glowing a mix of yellow and purplke, his face stone with rage
"WHY WOULD YOU GO HERE?!" Olivier shouted, his attention focused on his girlfriend, apprentice, Sprig and Luz. He made an off hand motion that reduced Amity's abomination to goop. "ALL OF YOU! OWL HOUSE! NOW!"
"O-O-Ollie...?" Amity, her anger now replaced by shock and fear, managed.
The boy suddenly tensed and looked behind him, his already angry form suddenly becoming even more terrifying as he spied the reason the love of his life and friends were in this situation to begin with:
"Blight."
His voice dripped with venomous, seething hatred as he glared at her, before he let out a growl and unleashed a huge flash of light magic, having disappeared when Amity cleared her eyes.
"Later."
Just then, the lockdown ended and the Clawthorne Coven raced to the scene…a little too late.
"Oh, Titan Scat and jumping Jackalopes, we missed it!" Karma pouted.
"…I think I'll have nightmares of Olivier's power now." Fraost said aloud.
And suddenly, Lilith's warning from a month ago came back to Amity: That her former friend was now LEAGUES more powerful than that night. With a display like what she had just seen. She had no doubt of the reports he'd gone toe to toe with Coven Heads Hettie and Eber…
And apparently, to further terrify the Blight girl; one of those girls was EVEN stronger than him!
'If Ollie can do THIS…" The heiress asked herself. "WHAT THE HECK CAN THIS GIRLFRIEND OF HIS DO?'
"What in the Titan is going….?" Bump asked before gasping at the damage. "Windows shattered into millions of pieces? Walls cracked? Locker-beasts whimpering? Banners shredded? Faust's bust in pieces? Wonton destruction of school property!?"
He then spied the Blight heiress and the Clawthorne Coven.
"Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh….." Apollo tried to come up with and excuse, the other boys soon following in his example.
"Eh. kids will be kids." Bump waved it off, before seeing something that made his blood freeze, rise and boil. "THE TROPHY CABINET!? MY SINGLE MOST PRIZED AND CHERISHED POSSESSION!?"
Throughly enraged, the Principal glared at the only people in his vicinity….. by which we mean he ignored the star student of the Abomination Coven and focused on the group of known troublemakers.
"….OLLIE DID IT!" The Clawthorne Coven all said, pointing to the wall and then realizing that for that trick to work, the person you were blaming had to be in the room.
"…Aw, Shells." Nagare cursed.
