The next morning, when he woke up, Kazuki remembered the memories of his previous life.
In his past life, he was just an ordinary salaryman in his mid-twenties.
He had been staying late to finish a report and decided to head to a nearby convenience store to grab breakfast.

The next time he regained consciousness, he found himself in an empty, white space.
"Are you awake?"

"Ah, I figured. So this is the afterlife, huh?"
"No, it's just one step before that."
"Huh... So, what happens to me now?"
"You have two choices!! One is to be taken to heaven. The other is to reincarnate into a different world."
"A different world!? Like... Isekai?"
"Yes! The child you saved was supposed to die. But because you saved him, his fate has changed. He will grow up to become a great scientist and contribute to world peace. Because of your role in that, you've earned the right to live a new life. So, what will you choose?"

"Understood. Then, your reincarnation destination is────here!"
Suddenly, a drumroll played, followed by a loud fanfare.
"You will be reborn into the world of High School DxD!"
'High School DxD!? A light novel, huh?' he thought.
"Oh, don't look down on it. The countless stories born in this world, supported by its readers, created this new world."
So, basically, the more readers a story has, the more new worlds are born. That made sense to Kazuki, to some extent.
But High School DxD... He remembered reading it, but only up to a certain point. Still, as long as he didn't get involved with the main characters, he'd be fine.
'Yeah, that would work.' Kazuki thought.
"By the way, I'll be reincarnating you right near the main characters, so have fun♪"
'No thanks. I don't need that service. And wait, is this voice... a goddess? Wasn't her character starting to crack a bit?' Kazuki's mind reached its peak.

With that final voice, Kazuki lost consciousness.
When he awoke, he found himself lying on a bed, his hands gripping his head.
'Wait... What happened? Did the goddess really erase my memories by mistake or something?' He groaned.
'If I had forgotten my reincarnation, what was the point of the perks?' Kazuki's mind started racing.
But now, it all made sense. He had survived his grandfather's tough training because of the Strong Body he had received as a reincarnation perk.
And the martial art his grandfather taught him—it wasn't just any style; it was Mutsu, or rather, Fuwa Enmei-ryu.
Kazuki went to the bathroom and looked at his reflection in the mirror. There, on his back, around the shoulder blades, was a strange mark, something like plant cells.
That mark, he remembered it.
In the fall of his second year in middle school, he found something odd on his way home from school.
Now, thinking back, that had been the Unit Guyver. He had accidentally triggered the switch and was absorbed by the unit, losing consciousness.
When he woke up, it was already evening, and his grandfather had been furious, scolding him for skipping his training.
After that, Kazuki had been forced to double his training, and he had completely forgotten about the Unit Guyver.
Regardless, Kazuki Fuwa had received all three reincarnation perks, and his memories were back by now.
But to think, he had ended up as a member of the Gremory Peerage... of all places! The most dangerous faction.
He shook his head. No point in dwelling on it.
"Time to get to school," Kazuki said as he quickly dressed in his uniform and left his room, heading out the door.
