The room felt unnervingly quiet as the fire crackled softly in the corner, its glow casting long shadows across the cabin. Amelia sat still, her hands curled tightly around the armrest of the chair, her mind swirling with too many questions she couldn't ask. Enzo had been unusually silent since his last cryptic comment, his eyes flickering from the flames to the shadows beyond, as if something or someone was watching.

Suddenly, without a word, Enzo stood up and moved toward a small wooden chest near the back of the room. His broad back was to her, and she couldn't help but notice how stiffly he moved, as though the weight of something more than just the night's tension was pressing down on him.
