Bab 24: A New plan
"Surprisingly, I feel better than before. My strength has returned, and my spirit is healed."
Hiraku was sitting next to Shin, while Lisa and Mira stood close on either side of him, listening intently. Mira touched her forehead and sighed. Ever since they had linked their spirits, they could feel each other's emotions, and she could even hear his thoughts sometimes, no matter the distance. Hiraku had explained it was temporary, but he didn't know how long the effect would last.
"There's someone stalking us. Whoever they are—be it demon or human—they have an incredible amount of power," Mira said, leaning against the wall.
"A higher demon with the power to control lesser demons—that's nothing new. But what surprised me were the runes left behind. Such evil power is usually used to harm people, but the runes not only wiped their memories, they also teleported them home. Evil doing good... I've never heard of such a thing," Hiraku said, placing his hands on the bed and pondering his own words.
"Whoever it was left no trail. My guess is that it was a celestial demon," Lisa responded, placing her left hand on Hiraku's shoulder.
"That means we have to be more vigilant..." Hiraku was about to give them both more instructions when the doctor came in,scribbling down some words on a notebook.
" Um Mr Hiraku is it?" The doctor asked pushing up is glasses for a better view.
"Yes doctor" Hiraku responded while standing up.
"Your friend should be awake by now. I have no scientific explanation as to why he is still asleep. It's really strange,pardon me for using that word."
"You mean my friend is still in a coma?"
"No he is not in a coma,he is perfectly fine,but it is as though is mind doesn't want to accept that he is fine. I don't know if that explanation makes sense."
"In other words, his condition is one that science cannot solve," Mira chimed in.
"I guess you're right," the doctor replied, almost nervously.

"What do you think we should do, Hiraku?" Mira asked, sitting next to Hiraku. Lisa sat to his left. They were at the cafeteria.
The students couldn't believe their eyes—how could one of the most arrogant and prideful students in the school sit next to a nerd? Not just one, but two ladies. Some of the students banged on their tables, agitated. Mira couldn't help but notice people staring at them, but she simply smiled and continued eating her meal.
"We need to bring him to the church," Hiraku responded, ignoring the jealous eyes gawking at him.
Lisa noticed the tension around them and held onto Hiraku's hand. "Why the church?" she asked, her eyes darting nervously at the students.
"My plan is to find the old granny who helped Mira unlock her spiritual powers. She might know a way to awaken Shin. I don't understand why he isn't awake, even after all the spells I used. She and Zack are the only ones with more in-depth knowledge of the supernatural than me. Also, Mira needs to return to her normal life," Hiraku explained, his focus shifting to the stares directed at them.
"In case you were all wondering—we're friends! So enough with the gossip, or the next eye I catch staring will get plucked out and served on my table," Mira berated the students, banging her right hand on the table.
Out of fright, the students quickly lost interest in them.
"I have to say, you really are mean," Hiraku said with a smile, continuing his meal.
"Well, being mean serves its purpose when needed," Mira pouted, twirling her spoon in her hand. She remembered her promise to Hiraku to change for the better, but a girl had her limits. That was just the way it was—and would always be. Still, she made a deep oath in her heart never to bully another student again, for the sake of their friendship.
"I guess you're right, Miss Mira," Hiraku responded with a thumbs-up. Lisa giggled softly.
Mira was surprised by his reply. Suddenly, she could hear Hiraku's thoughts: "I don't need you to change who you are. I only want you to see the world in a beautiful way."
She stood up and hugged him. She hadn't meant to do so in front of Lisa, but she couldn't stop herself.
"Thank you for having faith in me."
"Mira..." Hiraku was surprised by the gesture.
The once-calm cafeteria exploded in gossip once more. Mira released Hiraku from her embrace and went over to Lisa, hugging her as well.
"Though I can't believe it myself, I'm grateful to have you as a friend," Mira said.
Lisa, her face filled with warmth, held Mira's hands and said, "Thank you for being my friend."
The trio laughed, feeling a sense of peace and reassurance in their friendship, ignoring the gossip that buzzed around them.
"Time is of the essence. Bring him to me," an old woman's voice echoed through the cafeteria.
Mira whipped her head around to see who had spoken, but it seemed she was the only one who heard the eerie voice. Hiraku stared at her with concern and stood up.
"What's wrong?"
"I heard a voice. I believe it's the old granny," Mira replied, her eyes darting around cautiously.
Lisa held her gently as they left the cafeteria.
Outside the school grounds, a tall figure stood. He was cloaked, with a hat covering most of his face, but his glowing red eyes pierced through the sunlight. In his right hand, he held an orb, within which the image of an old woman could be seen. His hands fiddled with the orb until a weighty hand rested on his shoulder.
"Hey, mister. What can I help you with?" a male voice boomed from behind.
The cloaked figure turned slowly, looking down without uttering a word.
"I'm talking to you, goddamn it! What are—" The tall figure grabbed the man's forehead forcefully. The man struggled, but his body quickly went numb. His mouth gaped open, saliva dripping from the corners.
The man shut his eyes and fell to the ground.
The eerie figure began laughing sadistically. Behind him, the man sprawled on the ground opened his eyes—now pitch black, filled with darkness.
