In other words, the ghouls would not assail them actively? Glancing back at the ghouls not far away, especially "her" standing in front of the fireplace. Why was this so? Since when had the undead become so decorous? Or did these ghouls possess their own consciousness and the faculty of thought? Particularly "her"... Trapped to death here?
